Victory Motorcycles has recently launched two brand new models, Cross Country and Cross Roads, which are built to compete with the Harley-Davidson Road King.

Both motorcycles are adequate for long journeys and are built on the same two piece aluminum frame and make use of a 50-degree V-twin motor. The air-cooled and fuel-injected unit displaces 1.731cc and develops 92 hp and 148 Nm.

The engine is coupled to a six-speed transmission, while the final drive is a maintenance free belt drive. Both the Cross Country and Cross Roads models are claimed to have the lowest seats and dry weights in the high displacement cruiser class they’ve just rolled into.

The braking system is composed from two 300mm discs and four-piston calipers up front, while at the back there’s a single 300mm disc on which acts a two-piston caliper. Both models have the same 43mm upside-down fork and a central, adjustable air monoshock.

Also considering the fact that the Victory Cross Country starts at $17.999 and the Cross Roads comes with a $15.999 MSRP, it seems that Harley’s piece of the pie just got slightly smaller.

Day one of the New York Motorcycle Show brought the debut of a number of expected motorcycles and a variety of concepts. The most eye-catching of these last is the Victory CORE, a concept which represents the quintessence of a motorcycle as designers and engineers made sure that one piece would do the job of five. For example, the sand cast aluminum frame acts as a steering head, engine mount, gas tank and airbox (ok, that’s only four) so the complexity of this bike is what impresses.

Behind this innovative creation sits the Victory Freedom 106-ci V-Twin with and six-speed overdrive transmission. Although the engine and gearbox are already used on production Victory models, this bike isn’t heading for production – at least not in this form – due to a wooden seat and open exhausts, but Victory doesn’t really plan that. Their goal was to show towards what they’re heading and we reckon they made their point.

The Victory CORE is the work of Victory Motorcycles Industrial Design team so let’s hear them out!

One of the latest Victory models revamped for the 2009 lineup is the notorious Hammer S. A muscle bike characterized by faultless custom design and backed up by a massive V-Twin engine this is Victory’s way of getting the best out of American muscle cars and transposing it into motorcycles.

Among the top models found in the 2009 Victory lineup are the Kingpin and Kingpin Tour, the only classic cruisers built by the new American bike manufacturer. Their clear purpose is to counteract Harley-Davidson and its infinite success, not by copying it, but by introducing a whole new concept of freeway motorcycles.

Victory Motorcycles have reached their first decade of production and which better way to celebrate the occasion than with a limited edition anniversary model? The manufacturer has concentrated on its most distinguishable model, the Vision Tour, which apart from a fiery red color is just a little bit longer and comes filled with anniversary emblems.

What we must definitely mention is that Victory will only sell 100 exemplars of this new, greater model and all have already been booked. But that’s no impediment if you’re not ostentatious as the Touring lineup also contains the already famous Victory Vision Tour, Tour Comfort and Tour Premium, as well as Street and Street Premium models, which are new for 2009.

Yes, it is hard to believe, but 10 years have passed since Polaris Industries introduced Victory Motorcycles. This proves that the levels of performance, finesse and attention to details of these bikes have position it next to the advanced in the business and there is no wonder as Polaris pumped up billions for this brand’s success. Its operation in UK has already announced their celebration at the forthcoming Americana International show at the Nottinghamshire County Showground in Newmark (...)
