Design

The classic design of the Yamaha Royal Star Venture S lends itself to a lot of vintage styling cues that's right up with its classic touring bike specifications. It blends sleek sophistication with classic good looks, and all the amenities and long distance comfort of a classic tourer.

The console and instrument panel carries a few notable information settings, including a digital speedometer, odometer, dual tripmeters, fuel tripmeter, clock, fuel gauge, cruise control, TPS self-diagnosis, speed sensor, and neutral, high beam, turn signals and low oil-level indicator lights.

The bike has a nice fit and finish with extensive chrome accents, deep, valanced steel fenders, and a six-gallon fuel tank. A large and powerful 12V 60/55-watt remote-adjustable halogen headlight is also part of the bike's profile, maximizing nighttime visibility and cutting a stylish profile. The bike also features a huge, 15-gallon rear trunk with easy, one-touch opener can hold two full-faced helmets and includes a lined interior storage pouch. Color-matched hard-shell saddlebags each feature handy, one-touch openers and spacious 9.3-gallon storage with interior pouch. 2V 18AH maintenance-free battery ensures easy, reliable starting.

Then there's a four-speaker - 14 watts per channel - system with automatic, speed-regulated volume control to help hear over wind noise, as well as a two-way rider/passenger intercom system.

Performance

The Yamaha Royal Star Venture S is powered by a 1,294cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-valve, V-4 engine that produces 98 horsepower and 89 lb/ft of torque at 4,750 rpm. The 4 valve-per-cylinder head design ensures maximum breathing efficiency for great engine performance. while four Mikuni BDSR 32mm carburetors with TPS deliver seamless throttle response. Each of the four carburetors come with a single 15-watt heater to ensure consistent fuel/air delivery under varying temperatures. A huge air box capacity provides exceptional airflow to help boost both torque and power while a compact-design dual intake system enhances performance without sacrificing the bike's overall fuel tank capacity. A large-capacity radiator ensures superior engine cooling for maximum efficiency with a single-axis, internal counterbalancer reduces engine vibration for maximum rider comfort. The Royal Star Venture also comes with av wide-ratio, 5-speed transmission with a 5th gear overdrive that reduces engine rpm at highway speeds for smooth, relaxed engine touring.

Chassis and Suspension

The Royal Star Venture S employs a high-integrity, single-backbone frame with solid engine mounting and a 29-degree caster angle, delivering a quick, responsive steering and excellent handling. An air-adjustable telescopic front fork designed with a 29-degree caster angle and 5.5" of travel smooths out the bumps of the bike and adjusts settings for varying load capacities. In terms of suspension set-ups, the air-adjustable link-type rear suspension features a vertically mounted single shock with 4.1" of travel for outstanding long-distance ride quality. The bike also carries large-diameter front and rear disc brakes with sintered pads, providing the kind of strong and linear stopping power that this bike needs.
