The Yamaha FXNytro 153 was especially developed to deal with any type of trails feeling comfortable on rough tracks but also on light powder or deep snow.

Fortunately, comfort was not forgotten, and the handlebar and seat heights are perfectly matched for aggressive riding and extreme maneuvering. Moreover, for consistent control, the hooks and main bar section are made of the same grip material.

The track is made of a lightweight but solid material and has a 3-inch pitch with notched lugs for improved traction. The ride quality is assured by the ProMountain Air rear suspension which uses a Fox FLOAT 2 XV shock on its rear arm and Fox FLOAT 2 air front shocks.

Power comes from a 4 Stroke, 1,049cc, 3-Cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which offers an instant throttle response across the RPM band. The FX Nytro 153 also features an oil pressure sensing system, side heat exchanger cooling and Yamaha’s Engine Braking Reduction System (E.B.R.S.).

Genesis® 4-stroke High Output engine

Bred for Snocross competition, the High Output engine delivers massive bottom-end power, its lightweight crank and fuel injection delivering instant throttle response across the RPM band. The FX Nytro 153 also features an oil pressure sensing system, side heat exchanger cooling and Yamaha's Engine Braking Reduction System (E.B.R.S.).

Double wishbone front suspension geometry

Double wishbone front suspension offers more trail and relaxed caster, resulting in superior bump handling on the trail - for heading out and back - as well as off-trail. Dispensing with a sway bar saves weight and the multi-talented FXNytro 153 maintains excellent sidehilling and deep snow performance.

ProMountain® Air rear suspension with Tip up rails

The lightweight semi-coupled rear skid frame uses two specially designed Fox Float air shocks to eliminate the need for heavy torsion and coil springs. Fox have designed the FLOAT 2 XV with an added cylinder for extra air volume, which essentially increases the spring rate capacity of the shock.

Camoplast® Maverick™ track

The Maverick™ track was developed jointly by Yamaha and Camoplast® – it uses a durable single-ply design with a 7.62mm pitch that allows extra snow to pack in between the lugs, for a firmer grip. Combined with the new, high (57mm) lug pattern, this design provides even greater traction, no matter what the snow conditions.

Fox® FLOAT™ 2 XV rear shock

The ProMountain® Air rear suspension uses a Fox® FLOAT™ 2 XV shock on its rear arm. An external air chamber on the shock provides additional air spring capability, eliminating the need for heavy steel torsion springs. This industry-leading air shock is a result of Yamaha's close collaboration with Fox® over many years.

Fox® FLOAT™ 2 air front shocks

Fox® FLOAT™ 2 shocks use an air spring that forces the piston to rebound - eliminating the need for heavy steel coil springs. So compared to conventional springs, they are significantly lighter. A pocket-sized air pump is supplied, allowing you to tune each spring individually and set up the suspension according to your personal preferences.

New tailored Camoplast wide mountain skis

With Air rear suspension, you reap the benefits of an 18° track approach angle that gets your snowmobile up on top of the snow quickly. The new tailored Camoplast wide mountain skis run straighter and simply shrug off bumps on the trail – and excel on climbs. Sidehilling and deep snow performance is also exceptional.

Tall, wide, hooked handlebar

The chassis design puts the rider naturally into an aggressive, yet comfortable forward posture - and a single-piece, dual-hooked handlebar complements this position. For consistent control, the hooks and main bar section are of the same grip material. The centre grab strap is designed with backcountry riders in mind – great for sidehilling.
