The quality and versatility of the latest range of BMW Motorrad Rider Equipment has been recognised by the readers of Germany’s best-selling Motorrad magazine, who have voted BMW Motorrad as the ‘Best Brand 2007’ in the Rider Equipment textile category.
What we wear when we are riding is extremely personal. Some riders – especially sports bike riders – prefer leather race-style suits while most others, including touring riders, off-road riders and commuters usually choose the more versatile weatherproof textile garments. Fortunately, BMW Motorrad has a comprehensive Rider Equipment and accessories collection that allows all riders on all budgets to choose items from its current range to suit their particular motorcycling needs.
The nominations for the ’Best Brand 2007’ in the category of textile Rider Equipment took place via the magazine during 2006, where readers could vote for their favourite motorcycles, clothing, accessories and services in 20 different categories. More than 36,000 Motorrad magazine readers voted for BMW Motorrad as Best Brand 2007 and the accolade was presented to head of BMW Motorrad Dr. Herbert Diess at the “Bike of the year 2007” Readerevent and awards ceremony in Ludwigsburg (near Stuttgart) on 15 March.
A special 16-page ‘winner brochure’ supplement is being produced for the 13 April edition of Motorrad magazine, detailing all the winners and showing pictures of last week’s ‘Readerevent’. It will be distributed to more than 225,000 motorcyclists in Germany.
Tim Diehl-Thiele, BMW Motorrad’s Manager for Riders Equipment and Accessories was delighted to receive this Best Brand 2007 award: “What is really special for us is that it is the readers that have voted for this award, and that more than 36,000 of them chose BMW Motorrad Rider Equipment as their preferred motorcycling clothing. We are also very proud that as a motorcycle company, BMW Motorrad has won this award and beaten off competition from companies that only specialise in making motorcycle clothing. We have spent years developing our range of clothing – which now comes in different styles, colours and cuttings with lots of functional solutions and details – and we continually invest in researching and developing new material technology, so that riders have the best possible choice of high-quality clothing for riding all year round.“
