Motorcycle design guru Oberdan Bezzi has recently come up with a racing motorcycle concept inspired from the MotoGP and yet destined to the motorcycle shows floors. The Jarno bike pays a tribute to Jarno Saarinen, a racer for Benelli in the 350 and 500 GP who won two races on the circuit of Pesaro Villa Fastiggi in the 1970s.
Like most concepts, it shows off its maker’s potential without putting anything into practice.
We’ve just spotted the unique opportunity (for your out there, of course) to get into drag racing. This here is a 7 sec 300+ horsepower turbo charged Kawasaki bracket racing bike and it is posted “for sale” on Youtube so if you were planning to go as a professional from the start, this is the perfect time to take action.
The video shows a few demo runs and also the owner’s phone number and e-mail in case you’re interested.
Casey Stoner easily won the first MotoGP race of 2009 after leading the Monday night race from start to finish. The Australian pilot ended the race on the Losail International Circuit with seven seconds earlier than the second arrived, Valentino Rossi, managing so to impose himself as the third consecutive winner of the season-opener in Qatar. Third place goes to Jorge Lorenzo. > More
This video takes us through the sequences of an incredible motorcycle accident taking place at speeds in excess of 170mph. What could have been a dramatic loss of life ended up in a sudden career end as the rider in the video quit racing after the crash and started enjoying life in other ways involving a smaller risk percentage.
The last weekend saw Zero Motorcycles undergoing the 24 Hours of Electricross competition which ended up setting two Guinness World Records, one for the furthest distance traveled in 24 hours on an all-electric off-road motorcycle (500 miles) and the other for the largest electric motorcycle race (50 competitors racing for 10 teams).
Satisfied with the results, founder of Zero Motorcycles and organizer of the race, Neal Saiki said that "this event proved that electric technology can endure the same level of competition as their gas-powered counterparts, however, the power resources to compete are drastically different. The total cost to power all 10 motorcycles for 24 hours was approximately $100,"
Here’s a video from the first international endurance competition for off-road electric motorcycles won by team HotChalks MDV.
The 2009 MX Championship has already started getting riders, motorcycles and their crews in trouble. These are by far the coolest pictures we’ve come across yet and by the small unstained blue on the front fender, we can confidently say that we’re dealing with a Yamaha dirt bike.
Apparently, as the bikes become better performing, organizers make sure that tracks are even harder to race on and that’s what the audience loves about motocross racing.
When racers want to complicate their motorcycle racing career, they turn to sidecar racing and get a balancing “bonus” who’s ass might very often be at stake if things don’t go according to plan. So, how do you thing think this guy ended up in this specific situation?
Randy DePuniet is one lucky pilot as his team – LCR Honda – recently signed a sponsorship deal with Playboy. The rider’s Honda competition motorcycle and leathers will feature the Playboy logo starting this weekend at the IRTA tests and during the Spanish and Japanese GP’s.
Owner of the team, Lucio Cecchinello, has confirmed the news: “We have been in touch with Playboy US for a long time and, taking advantage of the opportunity given by the presence of some American top executives part of Hugh Hefner entourage during his latest visit to Europe, we have defined the guidelines of a project allowing us to start negotiations with some of this evergreen brand’s global licensees. Playboy Italy has positively assessed the project and confirmed the sponsorship for the early stage of the season (MotoGP Championship Launch during the tests in Jerez de la Frontera, GP in Japan and Spain as Title Sponsor, GP in Qatar…unfortunately, we all know the kind of problems for that) linking it to their activities in the view of relaunching the magazine in Italy. Currently, there are further ongoing negotiations with licensees in more countries, who have been presented with our “projects by event” concept, which does not imply any millionaire investments”.

Kawasaki will soon launch their new Ninja Underground Website where we’ll be seeing stunt riding, drag racing and track racing, all on their 2009 Ninja models so they tease us with the official video dedicated to this event until the actual launch.
The skillful hand of the Italian motorcycle sketch designer Oberdan Bezzi creates an impressively accurate Ducati 1000 Supersport concept motorcycle.
Apart from the Ducati 1000 SS shown both in yellow and red, the same artist also visualizes a Ducati TT 1000 combining both colors. While this last looks more like a racing bike from the 1990s, the first looks like the proper bike to inherit 999 S’s place in Ducati’s lineup.
