Red Bull X-Fighters London

They say “when in Rome, do as the Romans do,” but it seems that rider Chris Birch simply couldn’t conform to the habits of royalty during the Stowe House photo shoot. The fact is that it is aimed to promote Saturday’s X-Fighters event at Battersea Power Station and, to be honest, we really don’t think there could be a better way of doing that without getting arrested.

Chris Birch’s invitation to tea at the Buckingham palace was honored in probably the strangest possible way in history.

Tower Bridge backflip by Robbie Maddison

Robbie Maddison came up with a very spectacular way to promote the upcoming Battersea Power Station round of Red Bull X-Fighters scheduled to take place on August 22 in London. The daredevil performed a no-handed backflip between the two open sections of Tower Bridge spanning the Thames in London at a speed of 40 mph.

Although the stunt took place early this morning, all the elements were on Maddison’s side and he managed to land smoothly.

Very communicative, the stuntman shared a few impressions with the press: "People say I’m crazy, but I just want to push the boundaries of my sport and my body to the limit and I love taking on these huge challenges," said Maddison. "It was an incredible feeling to fly between the two towers and over the Thames".

<![CDATA[The Red Bull X-Fighters to arrive in Texas]]> http://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/motorcycle-news/the-red-bull-x-fighters-to-arrive-in-texas-ar57824.html

Red Bull X-Fighters

On the 14th of June Texas will host the third stage of the spectacular Red Bull X-Fighters. This is the first time the freestyle contest arrives in the United States so the historic Fort Worth Stockyards in Texas seemed to be the most appropriate location as the impressive track was especially created for the FMX show.

Riders list includes especially winners of previous editions so cowboys and rangers will see the performance of Mat Rebeaud (Switzerland), Ronnie Renner (USA) and Dany Torres (Spain). Also, Twitch Stendberg (USA), Matt Buyten (USA), Eigo Sato (Japan), Charles Pagés (France) and Robbie Maddison (Australia) will be getting the public excited.

A tough qualification session will sort four out of ten riders in order to have a total of twelve pure freestyle talents to turn that mountain of dirt upside down.

The Forth Worth stage is the third of five international stages of the Red Bull X-Fighters 2008 series.

After the “Monumental Plaza Del Toros” in the city of Mexico and the Sambodromo Rio de Janeiro, it will be the turn of Forth Worth, Texas, followed by Wuppertal, Germany (July 4th) and finishing in the “Plaza de Toros de las Ventas” in Madrid (July 17th -18th).

2008 Red Bull X-Fighters

The second stage of the big FMX event is strong coming and brings together with it at Rio de Janeiro the Red Bull X-Fighters show sustained by the best freestyle riders in the world so Brazilian people will better prepare for this unique show that knocks at their door.

Scheduled for the 3rd of May, the event will be opened by local festivities such as samba and carnival, but the real entertainment will be happening when the finalists of the previous edition, Australian Robbie Maddison, Mat Rebeaud from Switzerland and the Spanish Dany Torres will start spreading dirt alongside the other four qualified riders for the local direct elimination race, a day before the whole thing even starts.

So be ready for a merger between the rhythm of the samba drums and the roar of the engines in a spectacular race and Carnival. This can never sound bad, can it?
