2013 Royal Enfield Classic Battle Green

Royal Enfield’s history is strongly related to the War era, a time when the company’s motorcycles were heavily used on various battlefields. Since then the company continued to build motorcycles and today its models are highly appreciated for their rugged character, classic lines and simple mechanics.

The Royal Enfield Classic Battle Green features a vintage design language which draws inspiration from the motorcycles of the 1950s. The bike’s most notable styling cues are the 1950s style nacelle and toolboxes, the traditional paint scheme and the buffed engine components.

The motorcycle’s center piece is a single cylinder, 4 stroke engine which has a displacement of 499cc. The engine cranks out a maximum power of 27.2 bhp at 5250 rpm and a peak torque of 41.3 Nm @ 4000 rpm. The engine is married with a modern five speed constant mesh gear box which features a wet, multi-plate clutch.

The Royal Enfield has a lot of fans among those who love vintage style and modern engines. One of the most appreciated models in the company’s lineup is the Royal Enfield Classic Chrome 500. The model is based on the standard Classic 500 and what sets it apart from its sibling is the special chrome treatment.

Like its brother, the new Classic Chrome features the classic British styling of the 1950s and we especially like the clean cut of the fenders, the peanut style gas tank and the massive headlight.

The numerous chromed elements are combined with a rich paint finish which underlines the classic look of the motorcycle.

Power comes from a single cylinder, 4 stroke, twinspark engine with a displacement of 499cc. The engine’s output is rated at 27.2 bhp a 5250 rpm and 41.3 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.

The Royal Enfield Classic 500 is like a blast form the past. Its vintage look will remind you of the golden age of motorcycles, while the strong 500 cc engine brings you back to contemporary times. The engine is not only strong, it is also pretty efficient and reliable. The single cylinder, 4 stroke, Twinspark unit has a displacement of 499cc and puts out a maximum power of 27.2 bhp at 5250 rpm and 41.3 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.

The ride quality is assured by a front telescopic, 35 mm fork which offers 130 mm of wheel travel and a rear twin gas charged shock absorber with 5-step adjustable preload that offers 80 mm of wheel travel.

The stopping power is handled by a front 280 mm Disc paired with a 2-Piston caliper and rear 153 mm Drum brakes.

Despite their dated design, the classic-looking motorcycles have a special flavor which attracts many fans. This is why many contemporary models keep the vintage lines of the old motorcycles. However what lies under the skin is far from being dated as most of them are fitted with modern engines and technologies.

Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Enduro by Oberdan Bezzi

Design guru Oberdan Bezzi has come up with an original idea for a new Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Enduro. He claims the bike looks traditional but is also fashionable and stands for an everyday enduro motorcycle that offers good mileage and requires little maintenance. That is because it is powered by only a single-cylinder engine, which must be as reliable as back in the 1970s.

We have to admit that we are drawn by the idea of reviving the old Royal Enfield scrambler, especially if we’re offered the chance to test the beautiful piece of British motoring where it really belongs – off the road.

Riding Solo To The Top Of The World

The title of this short post is also the title of the DVD illustrating a man with a goal. It synthesizes Gaurav Jani’s successful attempt to border China from Delhi to Changthang Plateau in Ladakh on the saddle of its 350cc Royal Enfield motorcycle and without any support whatsoever. There is no cameraman except himself, no sound guy, nobody!

On the seventy days trip, Gaurav filmed himself gathering miles, interacting with people, or simply admiring the wonderful sights that permanently surrounded him. Some of them were never even filmed before.

By simply checking out this short news and enjoying this video the adventurer spirit in every one of us comes to life and makes us crave for even a comparable experience.
