We’ve already covered the 2010 MV Agusta Brutale 990R and 1090RR, but can’t pass over this barely released technical video showing the most important details of the four-cylinder, four-stroke, 16-valve engine that achieved MV’s main goal for the 2010 Brutales – to meet Euro 4 regulations even if it meant sacrificing some of the previous generation’s horsepower and torque.
Ducati recently made public the video for the 2010 Hypermotard 796 and we have to say that it doesn’t manage to start our interest as much as it could considering the 81hp and 55.7lb/ft of engine performance on a motorcycle that weighs only 368 pounds. This should translate in never ending wheelies, skids and burnouts, but we don’t see much of that happening during what appears to be a relaxed Sunday ride. The bikes look great though and the relaxing music kind of takes our minds away from the “professional rider on a closed course” kind of action.
Kawasaki Motors has today published the official presentation video of the 2010 Versys, which is technically unchanged, but gets what is Kawasaki’s idea of a pretty face.
Verdandi is an electric-powered chopper designed by automotive designer Michael Hallgren and two students from the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden: Anton Grammatikas and Viktor Berglin.
They started from the question “why fewer women than men ride motorcycles, and what can be done to attract female users and customers to the motorcycle market?” and came up to the conclusion that very few bikes are built with the female ergonomics in mind.
The Verdandi project is the solution to this problem and they’ve even created a full-scale clay model to prove it. This is claimed to be fairly safe, comfortable to ride for women and not harm the environment.
I wish we had this kind of projects back in college.
Although it was announced just yesterday – when we published the official pics and gone through some of its details – we can already say the new 2010 Kawasaki Z1000 is the kind of bike you either love or have, but you definitely don’t consider negligible amount. Making sure that it goes directly to your heart is this official video, the easiest way to present the only truly new Kawasaki street bike among the four announced so far. Check it out.
Kawasaki may not have seriously upgraded their 2010 ZX-10R Superbike, but they sure know how to keep people aware of this 200hp motorcycle and the official video presentation that we’ve attached is a good example in that matter. Take a look at it.
That car guy who at one point in time qualified motorcyclists as being ‘grown up man in power ranger suits’ might not have been that far from the truth considering that Universal Designs have created the Dark Knight Batman leather motorcycle suit. It is made of cordura, leather, kevlar and CE approved armor, which can be removed when you’re not actually riding your way to the end of delinquency.
Priced at US$998, the suit will be sold in a number of 1000 units, so you better hurry up if you were long planning to find the right gear to wear on your midnight cruiser.
This Japanese biker rides his Honda NSR50 to the very limit and beyond. Although the bike is destined to novices, by watching the video you’ll find that this guy has long passed that stage and he is now even able to touch the asphalt with his head and manages to pivot himself and his ride around that point. Simply unbelievable!
We’ve come across a very funny video showing an actor from Hollyoaks, the famous UK television soap opera, trying to pass over an easy obstacle at the Red Bull Romaniacs, the hardest enduro rallye in the world. The guy actually manages to see his way over the obstacle, but gets too enthusiastic about it and…and he brings home a nice story, just as the boss told him to. Just look at him go.
Daredevil Ryan Capes flew his Kawasaki dirt bike for 300ft during the Street Vibrations event at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada and so managed to set a new world record that would make Evil Knievel damn proud.
