Yamaha FZ8

After teasing us with pictures showing only the noses of both the 2010 FZ8 and FZ8 Fazer models and the motorcycle press getting their hands on more than just a few leaked pictures yesterday, Yamaha has decided to release a single full picture of the all-new FZ8.

Looking at it, it’s easy to see that the model supposed to replace the FZ6 is actually derived from this last’s bigger brother, the FZ1 . Considering that the 1000cc bike produces 150hp, the new middleweight one should brag about around 120hp. We can only be certain of that this summer, when Yamaha will unveil the naked FZ8 and the half-faired Fazer 800.

Yamaha has today made public the first picture of the all-new 2010 FZ8 Fazer. The Japanese maker will be taking the wraps off their new middleweight half-faired supersport in May this year and wave good bye to the FZ6 Fazer .

Revealed: 2010 Yamaha FZ8 Fazer

They’re following the same teasing procedure as with the FZ8 naked, which will replace the FZ6 naked in Europe, but at least that first teaser picture made us really think we’re dealing with a completely new bike, while this one is a pure reminder of the model it replaces.

We’re all aware of the fact that Yamaha will launch a brand new naked motorcycle in 2010, but apart from the fact that it will be called FZ8 and comes to fill in the “gap” between the notorious FZ6 and FZ1 , there’s little known about the bike. No doubt, the engine will be a 16-valve inline four so starting from there and Yamaha’s teaser French magazine Motorevue have let their pencils run wild on the drawing board and came up with this very plausible assumption for the 2010 Yamaha FZ8. Looking at it, we’re just sorry the new “middleweight naked” won’t come to the United States any time soon, at least not without a half fairing.
