The much-awaited and anticipated Yamaha XT1200Z Super Ténéré finally broke loose with the goal of tipping the adventure-touring king, the BMW R1200GS, off its throne and we must say the all-new Japanese bike has all the credentials to make that possible. To begin with, there’s a great demand for big-bore adventure sports bikes in general and, with the right ergonomics, powerplant and innovative features, for the all-new Super Ténéré in particular.
Update: Yamaha has just released the accessories list and pics, which you can now find in our article and picture gallery. Remember, the parts are standard on the 2010 model year, which makes this kind of a limited edition bike as the 2011 one will have them too, but only in the accessories catalog.

Ever since Yamaha unveiled the Super Ténéré concept wrapped in clothing at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show, the motorcycle press has began to speculate about the endless design possibilities and after these leaked shots, we can finally say that the bike contours itself as the most potent BMW GS rival so far.
Although this is not an official teaser, we must say the various design concepts look truly plausible, while the already confirmed features such as a 1200cc parallel-twin engine with side-mounted radiators and a 270-degree crank, as well as electronic throttle and traction control, shaft drive and ABS, confirm this as the best Japanese attempt to dethrone the Enduro King also know as the BMW R 1200 GS. Video is attached after the jump.
P.S. Please Yamaha make your move once and for all.

The Yamaha Super Ténéré is supposed to make its official debut in 2010 and this Japanese alternative to the consecrated European bike should tip the scale in its favor with a 1200cc engine, traction control and three-stage ABS. It will also feature a shaft drive, comfortable seat and everything you need to go around the world on it.

Yamaha has unveiled the Super Ténéré concept yesterday at the Tokyo Motor Show with the most diverse public reactions ever generated by the fact that the concept is nothing more than a mechanical skeletal wrapped up in cloth. It apparently recreates the look of Touareg desert nomads, but it also looks like a very detailed preview of what Yamaha plans on launching next year.
The Yamaha Super Ténéré 1200 production bike will be Japan’s first real opponent for the BMW R 1200 GS and it all comes down to the 1200cc parallel twin engine that will use a 270° crank in the attempt to replicate a V-twin’s firing order. Hmm, this is a lot of stuff indicated by a pair of wheels, some metal tubes and clothes.
