Ford will unveil the 2010 Mustang at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. After revealing its official badge, the guy from Mustang Forums brought the car latest images. It’s hard to call them spy shots, as Ford let the car in a place where anyone could see it.
The 2010 Mustang will be offered with a V-6 and a variety of V-8 engines. The design will be inspired by the Giugiaro concept unveiled in 2006 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

A new study now confirms what every newly divorced, middle-aged balding guy already knows: women are turned on by exotic cars. British insurer Hiscox (insert your joke here) commissioned a study of 40 men and women. All were subjected to the sounds of a Maserati, Lamborghini and Ferrari, and then were measured for the amount of testosterone in their saliva. The results showed that the women had elevated levels after hearing each of the exotics (i.e. the Italian accents made them feel all sexy-like.)
On the other hand, for all of you think a great personality can compensate for a more economical ride, you better be pretty funny. When the group listened to the sounds of a Volkswagen Polo, everyone’s testosterone level went down.
So if your Friday nights are kinda lonely, skip the Hair Club for Men and make your way to the nearest Italian car dealership.

Mercedes will unveil at the Paris Auto Show the CLT Concept, a Shooting Brake (Sports Wagon) model based on the new CLK. The concept will be powered by a Blue-hybrid diesel drive, the series production will follow in 2010.
The CLT was first supposed to be based on the SLK, but the CLK was chosen because the car wanted to have a more elegant appearance and offer generous interior space. Like the concept, the production version will be offered as a hybrid model, in conjunction with the new 252-hp V6 diesel.
Expect the CLT to show a preview of the design language that will be used in the future E-Class.

Lincoln is usually about luxury cars, but this might change in the near future as Ford is considering a compact, or C-segment for it. "We do think that there is room for a smaller car in the Lincoln brand," said product development chief Derrick Kuzak.
When Ford replaces the Escape crossover early next decade, the company is expected to bring out a Lincoln companion at the same time. Suppliers and analysts expect the C-segment Ford Kuga crossover sold in Europe to be the basis for those vehicles. If this happens, this would go against earlier reports that Lincoln would focus on larger cars, while Mercury would use small premium cars as a gateway to Lincoln.
In another contradiction, Kuzak also said Ford has no plans to bring the European Ka microcar to the United States. In July, he called the Ka an "opportunity" for the United States.

Previous rumors said that GM will show a near-production version of the Volt will be revealed to the employees this month. But Automotive News reported today that a production model of the Chevrolet Volt gas/electric vehicle will be revealed next week to both employees and media at GM headquarters in Detroit. The TopSpeed Team will be at GM headquarters to cover the event.
On September 16th, GM will celebrate its 100th anniversary and the production Volt will be revealed to celebrate the event. "The rumors that a production version of the Volt will show up at the celebrations are true," a GM source told Automotive News Europe. "The car will be a true representation of what the production version looks like and be somewhat different from the concept versions."
Speaking at the London auto show in July, Bob Lutz, GM’s vice chairman of global product development, said, "A production model will be showing this fall, but not at Paris (auto show)." Preproduction models of the Volt will be built next year and full production should begin in 2010. A European version will follow in 2011.

Why does Europe get to keep all the hot hatches? After we brought you a preview of the new Honda Civic hatchback last week, we now get a glimpse at the next Ford Ka ST. Based on the 2009 Ka, the ST version will be revealed in 2010. The ST should face some stiff competition from cars like Abarth 500 and Renaultsport Twingo 133.
The Ka ST will feature a bodykit with flared wheelarches and sporty front and rear bumpers. Its dynamic aspect will be accentuated by the by the racing stripes and the multi-spoke alloy wheels, side skirts and a venturi-style rear end, completed with twin exhausts.
Under the hood there will be a 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 135bhp. The 0 to 60 mph sprint will be made in 8 seconds while top speed will be around 125mph.

Toyota has worked hard to create a green image with their cars. Now they are taking it one step further by adding solar panels to cargo ships that transport their cars to the United States. Two Japanese firms are building a solar power system to augment the diesel engines aboard the vessels. Fuel consumption on the 60,000-ton boat will be cut by 6.5 percent. Doesn’t sound like much? Well when you take into account that each ship burns approximately 120 gallons per mile, 6.5 percent can be a huge savings. The trip from Japan to California is around 6,000 miles, so the solar paneled cargo ship will save 46,800 gallons of fuel. In other words, on a solar ship carrying 5,000 Toyota’s, each car purchased would have saved nine gallons of fuel before customers ever even saw it.
The solar ships not only save fuel, but they also clear the air. Cargo ships burn "bunker fuel," the truly nasty stuff that literally comes from the bottom of the barrel. A study published in Environmental Science and Technology found emissions from the bunker fuel cargo ships burn may cause 60,000 deaths worldwide. Also contributing a whopping 44 percent of the sulphate found in fine particulate matter in the atmosphere of coastal California. So even the smallest cut in usage of "bunker fuels" is a huge step for Toyota and its cargo carriers.
And you thought the solar panel in the new Prius was a big deal.

Audi TT is maybe one of the most popular vehicle from the German manufacturer on the market. Audi recently launched its TTS, a sporty version of the TT featuring a 2.0 liter TFSI engine with 272 hp. Of course, there are people who are not satisfied by the factory cars and want a little more, these people choose MTM, one of the best Audi tuners on the market.
MTM unveiled today the new performance package for the Audi TTS and you know what this means: more power and better performance. The new power output of the engine is bumped 58 hp to a total 330 hp at 6240 rpm.
With the Quattro AWD system and connected to a 6-Speed S-tronic Direct-Shift gearbox the TTS has a top speed of 164 mph. To stop all this new power, MTM added a new set of Brembo brake disks, 380 x 34 mm drilled, 8-piston. Also a new set of 20” MTM Bimoto forged rims were added for better stability.

Big engines are not the future, and the fuel prices are proving this. After announcing that the 335d will make its way to the US market, BMW also announced there will also be a four-cylinder gasoline engine for the latest 3 Series. In Europe, the 167 hp 320i is a best seller, and the company hopes it will have the same "desirable effect" in the U.S.
BMW has a long history of four-cylinder engines. In fact, its headquarters in Munich, Germany was built in the shape of four cylinders. Which makes it almost ironic that BMW has not sold a car with a four-cylinder engine in the U.S. (one of its largest markets) in many years.
With many car companies scrambling to offer incentives to lure in buyers, Volkswagen has announced the offer of zero percent financing on all 2008 models. It is slightly surprising since VW actually did fairly well in August. Speculation is that the decision was made simply to move the 2008 off the lot so the 2009 had room, not to boost sales, as is the case with GM’s employee pricing extended till the end of September.
The length of the financing depends on the car purchased, but some are available with a 60 month term.
