Apparently our searching was worth the effort, as today we came across some interesting details on the upcoming supercar. These details were released by the folks at Only The Best, who apparently took a trip to Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese factory, where the new supercar and the Aventador will be produced, and caught a glimpse of the new car as the production-line door opened as they left the factory.
The other detail is that this new supercar will not be called the Cabrera as we believed. Instead Lamborghini opted for a completely different name that includes "LP600-4" — an indication of the 600 horsepower developed by the 5.2-liter, V-10 engine. Now, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard that "Cabrera" will not be the official name, but this is one of the more hands-on reports that we’ve heard, given it actually happened...
The Gallardo’s replacement will be developed on the same chassis as the second-generation Audi R8 and will feature some design elements from the Miura , like the grilles across the entire rear window.
According to Only The Best, the model looks like a stumpy version of the Aventador with a rear end that is pretty similar to the V-12 supercar. The guys report that the model they saw on the factory donned Lambo’s signature Verde Ithaca paintjob.

News surrounding the 2015 Ford Mustang is still hot, as details about the coupe and convertible models keep rolling in. But now with a finalized exterior design, our rendering artist went to work piecing together what Ford’s rumored 2015 Mustang Mach 1 might look like.
High-performance with retro throwback flair is the name of the game and the exterior styling screams it. Up front, a huge front splitter with adjustable supports instantly stands out, while a larger rear spoiler and quad exhaust pipes juice up the rear end. The iconic Mach 1 logo adorns the rear truck lid in all its ’60-era font glory. Other small details, like the rocker panel and hood stripes, add character, while the vertical-bar Mustang logo replaces the galloping stallion on the front grille.
We can only guess at what lurks under those functional heat extractors on the Mustang’s hood, and guess we will. The current 2014 Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V-8 cranks out 420 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque, and while Ford says the 5.0’s output is expected to be "at least" the same for the upcoming year, we suspect the 2015 GT to receive a marginal increase; perhaps to 430 horsepower and an even 400 pound-feet of twist.
Starting with those suspected output numbers, an estimate of 440 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque from the new Mach 1 sounds reasonable; especially considering the 5.0 produced 444 horsepower and 380 pound-feet in the 2013 Mustang Boss 302 , which we expect the Mach 1 to basically be the replacement for.

During the unveiling of the LaFerrari, Marco Mattiacci, the president and CEO of Ferrari North America, said that all the 120 units destined for the American market were spoken for, and now the entire world’s allotment is spoken for.
According to Mattiacci the new LaFerrari is the first step in a new strategy for Ferrari to make its brand and its cars more exclusive. This means that Ferrari will build fewer cars, but they will be even more expensive.

A few days ago, I had the pleasure of speaking to Steve Saleen, former racecar driver and the proud owner of Saleen , Inc, following a court battle to prove his rights to the once-troubled performance-car manufacturer. We discussed many things in our 30-minute conversation, and I learned tons about what brought him back to the company that he brought to greatness in the 1980s and 1990s, what we can expect in the near future and what we can look forward to as time goes on.
We asked Mr. Saleen what brought him back to the company that he founded decades ago, after stepping away in the 2000s. According to Steve, his return to the company was both to protect his namesake and to show Saleen fans that he hasn’t lost the passion to manufacture performance cars and that Saleen is still a player in the performance-car realm. He elaborated that his return to Saleen required a legal battle to prove that he indeed still had the right to the name.
The biggest news is the all-new supercar that Saleen is working on, and I asked him to give us any information he could regarding the pace of the project and where it stands. Unfortunately, I was met with "We are indeed working on the next American supercar and hopefully it is not too far out, but I cannot divulge more information at this time."
Something that always weighs on the mind of many Saleen fans is how far in advance and how much "inside" information Saleen receives to help it in its engineering process. Steve let us know that Saleen’s strong relationship with Ford and other manufacturers does afford it some extra information on models and upcoming projects to help with building Saleen vehicles.
In terms of the future, Steve assured us that Saleen is not going to ramp up slowly, as the economy is primed for fast growth, so the company will take full advantage of this to grow the "new" Saleen as fast as the economy will allow. Part of this growth, according to Mr. Saleen, will be in the electric car realm. He told me "You shouldn’t be surprised to see us doing something in the electric vehicle segment, as well." The company views the EV shift as "less of a fad and more of a long-term trend," according to Steve.
In closing Mr. Saleen left us with this "After 30 years, I have not lost the drive or passion for doing cars, and all of this is possible because of the tremendous we have from our customers and fans around the world."
The official debut of the Acura NSX is still years away, but until then, Acura is offering you the chance to drive the NSX concept in Gran Turismo 6. According to Acura, the new "real driving simulator" will offer sports car enthusiasts their first opportunity to get behind the wheel of the next Acura NSX. Of course, the experience won’t be identical to actually driving the NSX, but it’ll still be tons of fun.
"Whether in the virtual world of Gran Turismo today, or on real-world roads and racing circuits less than two years from now, the Acura NSX will be an incredibly innovative and thrilling ride that delivers something entirely new to the world of super sports cars," said Mike Accavitti, senior vice president of Auto Operations at American

In some respects, that’s what you expect from an aftermarket company like Arden, which has specialized in these types of programs for Range Rovers. It’s latest take is no different, and yet when you take into account the kind of performance upgrade it gave the SUV , you stand and wonder if it could’ve been more.
That’s the respect we have for Arden.
But hey, this tuning program is still a whale of an upgrade, something Arden achieved by giving the Range Rover a supercharger kit, a new sport catalytic converter, an optimized ECU unit and a high-performance exhaust system. Considering that the standard Range Rover’s 5.0-liter, V-8 engine can produce a tight 510 horses and 461 pound-feet of torque, it’s an impressive feat that Arden was able to spike the numbers to a staggering 650 horsepower and 580 pound-feet of torque. This is good enough to improve the SUV’s 0-to-60 mph time from 5.3 seconds to somewhere around 3.8 and before hitting a top speed of 161 mph.
No word yet on how much this program is going to cost, but with the promise of 650 horsepower to play around with, we’ve no doubt that it’s going to set customers back a few bucks.

Who said you can’t enjoy a supercar while it snows? This driver certainly didn’t want to stay indoors on a frosty morning, so he decided to crank up the C7 Corvette Stingray parked in his garage and head to a parking lot.
Yes, an empty parking lot on a snowy day with no one around except for a friend with a camera in his hand. Let’s do some donuts, shall we? And this isn’t just any Chevrolet Corvette Stingray . This one has a supercharger from Pfadt Race Engineering, which spools to bump the power output to 650 horsepower.
Pfadt Performance also offers a Stage 2 conversion for the C7 Corvette Stingray that includes headers, exhaust, tweaked ECU, etc. Also available is a body kit and wheels for the new C7 Vette.
That is more than sufficient to get the rear tires loose on an icy parking lot. And of course, a lot of fun despite the miserable weather.

The current-generation Mercedes ML-Class (W166) was unveiled in 2011, as a 2012 model, and since then it hasn’t received any major updates. Things are about to change, however, as it looks like a revision for the ML is just around the corner, as our spy photographers managed to snap the first photos of the revised ML during winter testing.
As you can see from these spy shots, it looks like only the front and the rear sections will be updated. The interior will also receive a large iPad-like screen on the dashboard and the new COMAND infotainment controller with a touchpad on the center console.
We also expect to see a few changes under the hood, with a plug-in-hybrid version being a possibility.
The revised ML will be released in late 2014, as a 2015 model. It will join the MLC — the model that will take on the BMW X6 — in Mercedes’ crossover lineup.

With the next auto show scheduled to take place after the calendar turns to 2014, a number of automakers are already gearing up for it before the holiday break arrives.
One of these companies is Audi and to no one’s surprise, the German company has gotten the ball rolling with a preview of a crossover concept that it plans to unveil at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
Billed as the "new Audi show car," the yet-to-be-named crossover coupe concept is being touted as a preview of what we can expect from Audi moving forward, specifically as it pertains to certain visual elements in the concept that will be translated to its future lineup of sports cars .
That’s a lot take in, especially considering the "coupe -like nature" of this particular concept, particularly the certain designs that are undeniably sporty in nature. There’s a tornado line on the sides that emphasize a distinctively aggressive character. There are short overhangs and a low roof, thicker-than-usual C-pillars, aluminum underbody guards, and of course, a new set of 19-inch alloy wheels that mesh well with the somewhat-staunch and muscular look of this concept.
The interior, it appears, has a 2+2 seating configuration, although what appears to be lack of backrests on the front seats leaves us a little confused as to what Audi’s going for with this. There’s a flat-bottom steering wheel, which is a nice touch, and the full-length center console definitely adds personality to the concept.
We expect to hear more about this new crossover coupe concept when the Detroit Auto Show comes around. Until then, these teaser photos will give you a clear indication of what to expect before the concept makes its world debut.
