How many times can one really wax poetic about the Koenigsegg One:1 ? The short answer, of course, is not enough. That’s not to say that we’re never going to grow tired of it because everything, no matter how awesome, has a shelf life. But who are we kidding, really? We can’t have enough of the One:1 and thankfully, there are people like Shmee whose sole purpose in this world is to make us jealous.

The famous YouTube car guy has uploaded this spectacular video of the One:1. It’s called the “Exclusive First Look” at the mighty Koenigsegg and who are we to really argue with him.

Shmee’s video caught the One:1 in ways no other video has ever done. He even gets to ride shotgun, as the One:1 is put through the paces in the real happiest place on Earth: the Koenigsegg headquarters in Sweden.

Sorry, Disneyland.

Shmee’s level of access is unparalleled, and he proved it once again, thanks to this up-close look at one of the most powerful cars in the world today.

The list of things that bring me joy in this world is a long one. I enjoy tire smoke , nice scotch, sunny days, road trips and so much more. Way up near the top of this list is fresh cherry pie. It just so happens that the woman I married is one of the greatest pie chefs the world has ever seen. The big issue is the best place to get fresh cherries is in Door County, Wisconsin; about 1,000 miles from home. As fate would have it, Mazda gave me a buzz to ask if I would be interested in taking a road trip in a 2014 Miata .

I couldn’t think of anything else that sounded better than 1,000 miles of topless fun on the way to a fresh and tasty pie.

The trip wouldn’t be all fun and games. Thanks to conflicting work schedules I only had a four-day window to make the trip happen, and most of the trip to Wisconsin would be in an overnight blast. It was late Wednesday evening as I packed the trunk full of clothing, camera equipment and an empty cooler for my cherries. The wife slid into the passenger seat, I lowered the top, and we set off into the night. 1,000 miles is a long distance, but the Miata is a willing dance partner and my desire for pie gives me strength.

Who doesn’t love supercars ? They come from all over the world. Ferrari and Lamborghini come from Italy, Germany has Mercedes-Benz and Porsche , and Aston Martin and Lotus hail from England. We here in America have the Viper and Corvette Z06 . In 2014, we now receive a new supercar from the Philippines, sort of. The company is known as Factor Aurelio Automobile and its latest prototype — still unnamed — shows just what two creative minds can come up with.

The Philippines is known for its lush, tropical beauty, gorgeous beaches, and amazing culture. However, when you think of supercar origins the Philippines probably isn’t the first country that pops into your mind.

This relatively sleek and sexy supercar is still very much in development, and there is news of grumblings between its two founders, Kevin Factor and Brendan Aurelio, so this may be a short-lived dream. Regardless, it is cool enough to pass onto our faithful readers.

Although it received a much-anticipated facelift for the 2014 model year, the current-generation BMW 5 Series won’t be around for more than a couple of years. A completely redesigned version is being tested as we speak, and the Germans are readying for a 2016 launch. Much like every new generation, the upcoming 5 Series sedan will debut alongside a Touring brother, or as we call it here in the States, a station wagon. Both vehicles have been spotted in the past wearing swirly camouflage and prototype lights.

It’s been a few months since we’ve last seen a 5 Series and our spy photographers have stumbled upon the 5 Series Touring this time. Nothing has changed camouflage-wise, but this time the vehicle was riding on its own wheels and not on a truck. Actually, the photos show the wagon is already stretching its legs on the Nurburgring track, which suggests the Germans have reached a new development stage.

What’s more, our paparazzi also managed to snap some shots of the interior, a premiere in the case of the next-gen 5 Series. Read on to find out more about the newest details surrounding BMW’s upcoming midsize luxury car.

The Bentley Mulsanne ’s market launch in 2011 ushered in a new era for the British marque as a direct answer to the Rolls-Royce Ghost . The luxury limousine didn’t exactly set the world on fire when it was released, but a facelift to the 2015 model helped alleviate some of the Mulsanne’s design concerns. But a facelifted Mulsanne isn’t the only version in the works here. Turns out, a performance variant of the model is also in the pipeline.

Auto Express received word from Bentley insiders that the company is in the middle of preparing a high-performance Mulsanne that the automaker will likely name the Mulsanne Speed.

We don’t estimate the Mulsanne Speed to look drastically different from the limousine version. Maybe it’ll come with some tweaks here and there to make it a little lighter and give it a sportier look, but the overall design should be consistent with the facelifted 2015 Mulsanne .

That being said, the Mulsanne Speed is still being prepared as a performance model, so we expect some modifications done to the car’s chassis and suspension in order to improve its handling and driveability.

The Mulsanne’s 6.75-liter, twin-turbo V-8 will be used in the Mulsanne Speed; that much appears to be certain. The output, though, is being tipped to increase from 505 horsepower to 550 horsepower to give it a little more oomph to go with its sporty nature. The higher output will also translate to better performance numbers, including a 0 to 62 mph time under five seconds and a top speed of close to 200 mph.

Bentley CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer didn’t specifically say when the Mulsanne Speed is going to make its debut, opting only to say that it’s arriving at an auto show later this year. Well, Frankfurt is on hiatus this year so the biggest one in Europe that’s still on the calendar is the Paris Motor Show in October 2014.

We haven’t been shy about the vehicles we admire here on Topspeed. The Lexus NX midsize SUV falls into that list. The arrival of the NX has given Lexus a model to compete against the likes of the BMW X3 and the Audi Q5 . But if the company really wants to make a statement, a smaller version of the NX should be on the horizon, right?

Lexus Europe Vice President Alain Uyttenhoven spoke with Autocar about the possibility of a smaller Lexus SUV . He wasn’t totally open but he also didn’t shoot it down, leaving us hanging with nail-biting phrases like “not impossible” and “makes sense”.

The man clearly knows how to evade leading questions, even if it comes at our unfortunate expense. But if you read between the lines, there is reason to be optimistic. For one, Uyttenhoven didn’t completely deny the possibility of a smaller, NX-based SUV. We’re going to take that as a sign that Lexus could be considering such a model in the future. For now, that’s a "win" in our book

Lexus does have a real gem in the NX SUV, and If it can use that as a basis for a smaller version, there will be no shortage of competitors sweating out the model’s arrival. Models like the BMW X1 , the Audi Q3 , and the Mercedes-Benz GLA should all be worried if Lexus does release a competing model.

The ball, it seems, is in Lexus’ court. What it does with it could change the landscape of the luxury , compact SUV segment.

We’ve always thought of the Aston Martin Lagonda SUV as being former CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez’s pet project. But now that Bez is out of the management picture over at Aston, it looks like the Lagonda SUV is heading out with him.

Aston Martin Director of Design Marek Reichman recently talked to Pistonheads about the state of the company in the post-Bez era and the discussion brought about an update on the state of the long-awaited SUV.

If you’ve been waiting for the release of the model, maybe now’s the best time to turn away. With Bez out as CEO, the Lagonda SUV is no more.

“That was a different time,” Reichmann told Pistonheads. “It was Ulrich’s time. And now we’re in a very, very different time, with a different plan and with a different projection of what that brand should become.”

Part of that plan is retaining the Lagonda brand. But instead of building it as an SUV, Aston is now setting its sights on turning the Lagonda into its own exclusive marque.

That means more attention to exclusivity and less on the idea of mass production, which was something that Aston initially planned for the Lagonda SUV .

The A8 has been the flagship model of the entire Audi range since its arrival back in 1994. Now in its third generation, the A8 continues to carry the “Four Rings” flag to greater and greater heights. Word has it that the A8 is getting a new engine that will make good use of the company’s new 3.0-liter, V-6, e-tron drivetrain.

Auto Express is reporting that the A8 will be the first recipient of a new e-tron hybrid system combined with a 3.0-liter, V-6, diesel mill. This system is similar to the one Audi dropped into the A3 e-tron Sportback , albeit with a more powerful V-6 to complement the electric motor.

Audi technical boss Dr Ulrich Hackenberg confirmed to Auto Express that this new setup will be used on the automaker’s larger models with the A8 getting first dibs on it.

It’s another huge step in the company’s quest to produce more sustainable vehicles in the future. Having an electric motor to complement the V-6 should make the A8 more fuel efficient without compromising its already stout performance numbers.

The new A8 e-tron is expected to carry 368 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque with an all-electric range of 30 miles. The range is similar to other luxury hybrid models on the market, including the Panamera S-E Hybrid and its 22-mile, EV-only range.

Expect the A8 to be the first model to receive the 3.0-liter e-tron powertrain with the A6 and the Q7 and others following suit at a later date.

It’s an exciting time for Audi as it ventures into new territory with its bigger models. If the A8 e-tron succeeds, look for the company to set its sights on expanding the engine’s reach into other models sooner than later.

The Ferrari F40 holds a very special place in the company’s rich history. Not only the forerunner of the F50 , Enzo , and the astounding LaFerrari , the F40 was also the last Prancing Horse personally approved by Enzo Ferrari. When launched in 1987, it retailed for at least $400,000, making it the most expensive Ferrari sold to the public.

Manufactured in 1,315 units until 1992, the Ferrari F40 is a prized collectible nowadays, fetching enormous amounts when changing owners during auction events. And that doesn’t happen very often, as very few enthusiasts are willing to part with their supercar. Race-ready F40s are even rarer than that, with very few being built to IMSA and GT specifications. Jean Alesi, Hurley Haywood and Jean-Pierre Jabouille are among the lucky chaps that got to race the F40, but only one man remained closer to the supercar in the 2000s, long after its official retirement.

His name is John Pogson and he’s a trained Ferrari mechanic and the main man behind Italia Autosport. As one of the most successful independent Ferrari specialist in Europe, he takes care of some of the greatest Ferrari-badged vehicles and races them too. Is this the perfect job or what?

Pogson, who won several events at the wheel of the F40 between 1996 and 2001, and his story was recently covered by the folks over at XCar in an awesome, 10-minute video. The footage includes a trip to his Ferrari-packed garage, as well as John’s story with Italia Autosport. A story that’s worth watching, as he is one of the very last people to race the almighty F40.

It appears General Motors may be considering a Ford Raptor competitor in the near future, though not with the Silverado or Sierra . Reports from GM Authority suggest The General will use the upcoming midsize Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon as the truck of choice.

It seems GM has chosen the smaller trucks mostly due to their compact size and lighter weight, giving them more agility and potentially better handling. Along with being more agile, the smaller trucks will fit into tighter trails, like the famous Rubicon Trail in California — a trail the Raptor is simply too large to navigate.

There are really no solid details to go on, so speculation will have to suffice. It’s likely the new Raptor fighter will come with the largest engine offering, meaning the 3.6-liter V-6. Perhaps GM will allow the 2.8-liter turbo-diesel to power the off-roader as well. Beefy springs and shocks will be a must, along with larger off-road tires. Expect to see the Eaton G80 locking rear differential come standard along with a high-capacity cooling system for the engine and transmission. Generous underbody skid plating will also come included.

As far as naming the new GM truck, we could see a revival of the ZR2 nomenclature last used in regular production on the long-dead Chevy S-10. The name had a recent comeback on a Chevrolet Silverado concept truck back in 2011, but never gained any traction. We already know GM was pondering a “ZR2 package” back when the new Colorado/Canyon twins were revealed in 2013, so the likelihood is rather high the ZR2 will happen. Whether it’s a true Raptor fighter has yet to be seen. Stay tuned for further details.
