The Kia Sorento was launched in 2002 and went on sale in the United States the following year. The first-generation Sorento was a traditional body-on-frame SUV with off-road capabilities and a four-wheel drive system. The first-gen Sorento was replaced in 2009, when Kia introduced a completely redesigned vehicle. Now built on a car-based platform and relegated to crossover status, the second-gen Sorento began rolling off the West Point, Georgia production line for the 2010 model year. Slightly longer than its predecessor, the updated Sorento gained new 2.4-liter and 3.5-liter V-6 engines on U.S. soil.

The crossover received yet another makeover for the 2013 model year. Although Kia introduced it as a third-generation model with an all-new chassis and redesigned front and rear fascias, the update is commonly considered a facelift rather than a brand-new generation. Going into 2015, Kia introducing a revamped Sorento with hefty updates inside and out, including a longer wheelbase.

Swiss tuner Mansory has been in the aftermarket business long enough for it have established a reputation as one of the best to ever do it. It’s programs grace some of the best luxury and performance vehicles on the market that now includes the Porsche Panamera . Mansory’s program for the Panamera features an extensive list of modifications that bring out the best in the German saloon. We’ve seen many tuners work on the Panamera before, but there’s only a handful of them that can really claim to be on the level of Mansory.

For this program, Mansory worked on giving the Panamera a more refined appearance to complement its enormous engine upgrade. It’s actually nice to see the aftermarket company restrain itself from its usual over-the-top styling tendencies.

We can even make a case that the program’s combination of efficient aerodynamics and the massive engine upgrades make for an impressive kit that owners of the Panamera should consider when looking for an aftermarket modification for their beloved German luxury sports sedan . If I had a Porsche Panamera, Mansory would be near or at the top of my list. That’s how much respect I have for a company that has been doing its thing longer than some of us have been alive.

The Bentley Continental GT3-R made a lot of noise when it debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2014. But as it turns out, Bentley is looking at the possibility of an even more powerful Continental in the future. Yes, more powerful than the 572-horsepower GT3-R.

Bentley design chief Luc Donckerwolke spoke to Autocar about the incredible demand generated by the Continental GT3-R. The company only released 300 units of the model and according to Donckerwolke, all 300 have been accounted for. It’s this incredible demand surrounding the GT3-R that leads Bentley to keep the door of a more extreme version of the sports car .

Donckerwolke also pointed out the incredible opportunity Bentley has in connecting to a younger market that might have become used to identifying the company as a luxury adult brand.

A car like the GT3-R showed that Bentley still has the chops to build models that celebrate its successful history in motorsports . But with a more powerful model, it can open itself up to establishing an identity with younger generations of buyers more like the one that surrounds Porsche and Aston martin .

Donckerwolke didn’t specifically divulge any details behind this potential British rocket, but we do know that the Continental GT3-R has set the bar on how fast and powerful the Continental can be. If a more powerful Continental GT3-R is in the works, anything less than 600 horsepower would be a disappointment.

It seems development for the upcoming Cadillac ATS V is moving along nicely. The 3 Series fighter was just recently seen viciously attacking the Nürburgring’s corners and hills. Though this ATS mule is still wearing its swirly white camouflage wrap, it seems the car is pretty well sorted.

While Cadillac has yet to announce anything official, it’s very likely the twin-turbocharged, 3.6-liter V-6 will be the V’s motivating force. That’s the same powerplant currently found in the larger CTS Vsport. In that application, the boosted V-6 makes a respectable 420 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, however, it’s possible Cadillac will crank up the wick, reaching closer to 450 horses and 450 pound-feet. Remember, this will be the top-dog V trim, a direct rival with the BMW M3 .

The CTS Vsport’s eight-speed automatic transmission is also likely to make the jump to the ATS-V. A manual-shift mode with paddle shifters will keep the driving excitement, while the quad exhaust reminds the driver of the two turbochargers spooling under the hood.

The video includes some pretty great action sequences, including some rally-like airtime over the Nürburgring’s Flugplatz, or ‘flight place’ section, at the 47-second mark. An uninterrupted sound bite of the V-6 occurs just 10 seconds into the video, as the ATS ATS -V casually accelerates up a driveway at low rpms. Other instances throughout the short video demonstrate the V-6’s screaming abilities.

The Cadillac ATS-V is due out for the 2016 model year and will likely make its official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show happening in November 2014. Expect to pay around $55,000 for the M3 fighter.

The line between cars and motorcycles is getting thinner every day. Morgan’s Three Wheeler is open topped and uses the majority of bike’s powertrain for proulsion. Track day toys like the Ariel Atom promise the same type of acceleration as superbikes, and KTM , a motorcycle company, even builds a competitor to the Atom called the X-Bow . On the motorcycle side Can-Am has the Spyder , which is essentially a reversed trike. For 2015 we can add one more name to the list of motorcycle-car `tweeners: the Polaris Slingshot . The Slingshot features a design similar to the X-Bow, complete with a side-by-side seating arrangement, but it brings in the three-wheel layout of the Can-Am and Morgan.

Propulsion comes from a 2.4-liter, Ecotec four-cylinder sourced from General Motors that sends 173 ponies to the pavement. Yes, it’s time to yell "at least!" The Morgan 3-Wheeler is finally getting a competitor that can be acquired on U.S. soil without having to worry about import taxes and other headache-inducing duties.

Introduced in 1998, the Smart ForTwo revolutionized the city car segment through its short overall length and rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive configuration. The first-generation ForTwo went on sale in 1998 with a range of small-displacement gasoline and diesel engines and a six-speed semi-automatic transmission. The three-door hatchback didn’t reach the U.S. market until 2008, when the second-gen ForTwo was launched with revised looks and brand-new engines. The old gasoline units were replaced by 1.0-liter powerplant, while the six-speed transmission made way for a five-speed semi-automatic. Output ranged between 53 and 83 horsepower on the regular cars, while the Brabus version generated 101 ponies and was the only one to reach a top speed of more than 90 mph. Going into 2015, the Smart ForTwo steps into its third generation as vehicle co-developed with French automaker Renault .

Sharing about 70 percent of its parts with the brand-new Renault Twingo, the new ForTwo was redesigned from the ground up and fitted with upgraded engines and all-new transmissions, including a manual gearbox. The 2016 ForTwo comes with many firsts, but you’ll have to read on to find out more about that.

The Lexus LF-Lc made its debut as just a lowly concept car at the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Michigan and its reception was one that all automakers dream of. Not only did people at the auto show love it, but Lexus customers were clamoring to see a production model hit showroom floors.

Lexus all but told us that it would release a production model loosely based on the concept, but no release dates were ever talked about. According to a report from Automotive News, there are several Lexus insiders that are claiming that there will be a model identical or at least similar to the LF-LC and bearing the same name to hit showroom floors sometime in the next two years.

With this news, we figured it was time to start piecing together a review for our readers, so you can make an educated choice when the time comes.

The 1970’s were a great time for car movies . Bullit, The Italian Job, and Vanishing Point all arrived on the scene, and flaunted the power and appeal of great cars. And then there was Mad Max. Mel Gibson starred in a trio of movies filled with fast cars , angry bad guys and lots explosions. It was glorious. In the second film, there was a major focus on off-road mayhem and custom contraptions of motorized carnage. Now, a full 30 years after the last Mad Max film, the franchise is coming back, and it looks better than ever.

No, Mel Gibson has not returned, instead we have Tom Hardy taking over the role of Max. If you recognize that name, he was the man who played Bane in the Dark Knight Rises. The trailer is full of everything we have come to expect from Mad Max films including lots of modified cars, plenty of sadistic maniacs, and more than a few guns and fireballs. It looks just epic.

If you had any doubt that a new Mad Max film was a great idea, hit that play button and prepare to be proved completely wrong.

The new film hits theaters in May 2015.

The Dodge Viper saga began in 1991, when Chrysler introduced the semi-supercar commonly known as the modern-day Cobra. The production model was based on a concept car showcased in 1989 and carried an 8.0-liter, V-10 engine under its long hood. Sold as a roadster at first, the Viper gained a coupe version in 1996, when the second-gen car was unveiled. Numerous upgrades were implemented until 2010, including a displacement increase to 8.3 liters and an output update to more than 500 horsepower, when the Viper was discontinued after four generations only to return as the SRT Viper in 2013. Heading into 2015, the SRT and Dodge brands have again become one, allowing the Dodge Viper SRT to return.

When the Viper returned under the SRT brand, it arrived with a redesigned body and a slightly larger engine. Enlarged to displace 8.4 liters, the V-10 powerplant delivered 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, a figure that remained unchanged until 2014. Going into 2015, the iconic Viper remains pretty much the same, save for the name change.

Updated 07/28/2014: New details on the 2015 Dodge Viper report that the sports car will deliver an additional 5 horsepower over the 2014 SRT version. The only question is if the 645 horsepower will help boost the very poor sales of the sports car. (Road And Track)
