The P1 debuted in the 2014 model year with its hulking 3.8-liter V-8 and electric motor that produced a mighty 903 horsepower and approximately 1,100 pound-feet of twist. McLaren has already made it clear that there will be plenty of special-edition P1s, and in 2015 the first of these arrives in the form of a track-exclusive P1 GTR.

This new P1 is starting to take shape, as the British manufacturer has released preliminary details on the race-spec supercar . In a nod to the McLaren F1 that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1995, the track-prepped P1 will carry the same GTR moniker.

Updated 07/25/2014: McLaren unveiled a new teaser image for the future P1 GTR before the car’s official debut on Friday August, 15 at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The Lagonda name, previously used by Aston Martin for a hand-built, ultra-expensive sedan built between 1976 - 1990, returned under the spotlight about five years ago when the Brits introduced the Lagonda Concept .

Oddly enough, that concept had nothing to do with the four-door grand tourer, but rather a sporty SUV proclaimed to be a more luxurious alternative to the popular Porsche Cayenne . Rumors about a production version went back and forth with no relevant outcome, although the consensus was the vehicle might arrive in 2016.

But now we have to put the Lagonda SUV behind us, because it appears Aston Martin is actually planning to revive the iconic nameplate for a brand new sedan. Such a vehicle was spotted testing in the United Kingdom covered in camouflage. Our friends over at Autoblog think the Brits will slap a Lagonda badge on its trunk.

Details are scarce right now, but it’s safe to assume the four-door will be based on the Rapide S and ride on a stretched version of its wheelbase. Power is likely to come from the same 6.0-liter V-12 engine that delivers 558 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. More details should become available later this year, so stay tuned to TopSpeed for all the updates.

Updated 07/25/2014: Aston Martin officially confirmed a bespoke product program for a new super sedan that will revive the Lagonda nameplate. The model will be put into production in 2015 and will be built in a strictly limited series, like the the One-77 hypercar and the V12 Zagato.

Vaeth continues to prove how much it loves working on Mercedes models. The German tuner has time and again created some of the best programs on the market. It’s easy to see why a lot of Merc customers who can’t afford to send their babies to Brabus opt for Vaeth instead. So here’s some good news for owners of the Mercedes A45 AMG ; Vaeth has built a program for the hot hatch, and it’s incredible.

One of the things we like about Vaeth is how it can create an impressive program without going too far with its kit. Some tuners are able to go that route but those programs are more about keeping with their personalities. Vaeth doesn’t do that because it sticks to function and purpose more than anything else.

The A45 AMG program is still comprehensive. It comes with aerodynamic updates, interior improvements, a new sports chassis, a new set of wheels, and of course, an engine upgrade.

But even with all those enhancements, the overall result doesn’t take away the A45 AMG’s hot hatch identity. That’s the mark of an aftermarket company that knows what it’s doing and doesn’t shy away from it just because others prefer style over substance.

It’s been just a couple of days since Car & Driver revealed Bentley is pondering upon offering a brand-new model, and the British manufacturer has already confirmed a fifth vehicle will join its lineup by the end of the decade. However, it seems the said car won’t be an entry-level coupe, as suggested by the initial report, but one that will slot between the Continental GT and the Mulsanne as far as pricing goes. What’s more, Bentley is still undecided whether this new vehicle will be a two-seat sports car or a coupe .

Speaking to Auto Express, Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer confirmed the rumor, but added that the company won’t make a decision until the Bentley Falcon SUV gets launched toward the end of 2015. "Our designers are extremely busy right now preparing designs for each of them and we are preparing business cases. We will make the decision when we have more information," he said.

A concept car for each idea is likely to hit auto shows by 2016, as Bentley will be looking to gather public reaction and assess potential profits each of the two might bring. The new model, which will be the fifth offering in the company’s lineup, won’t arrive until 2018, Auto Express adds. A decision as to the brand-new Bentley will be a sports car or a coupe will be made by mid 2016.

The Nissan Versa Note is the smallest and cheapest hatch you can get from Nissan . It was built to provide the highest level of space and equipment for the lowest possible price. The car has been a solid seller for Nissan in the past, but for 2014 it is all-new. A new exterior shape comes to the car , along with a fresh interior design and new gadgets that have been pulled from some of the much more expensive cars in the Nissan family.

With a new design, revised equipment levels, improved interior space and the promise even better fuel economy, the Versa Note is offering a lot. Has Nissan had to cut corners on build quality and refinement to hit a price target? Will the increased fuel economy come at the cost of driving fun?

I was handed the keys to a top-level model with every bell and whistle Nissan could throw at it. Would the cheap five-door win me over, or did Nissan drop the ball with its reinvented people mover?

Read on to see what we thought about the 2014 Nissan Versa Note.

The race-spec SRT Viper is already a successful track machine, having won many prestigious trophies since its introduction in 1996. The latest iteration of the race car, the GT3-R, has yet to reach the heights of its forerunners, but its recent success during the Detroit leg of the Pirelli World Challenge Series in May 2014 is proof enough that the Viper is headed in the right direction. More recently, the "Snake" developed by Riley Technologies made yet another step toward track glory by setting the fastest lap in the Ultimate Track Car Challenge.

The event took place on July 18th at Virginia International Raceway, where the SRT Viper GT3-R rendered its competitors obsolete. The race car, built by Riley Technologies and driven by American Le Mans Series ace Ben Keating, wasn’t shy about tackling the track at full throttle and set the fastest lap at 1:44.71. The Viper was quicker than a 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo and its benchmark would have been enough to earn it the pole position at last year’s American Le Mans Series on the same track.

The Ultimate Track Car Challenge is an annual event held by Grassroots Motorsports at Virginia International Raceway. The competition is open to any type of car, including classic vehicles , and it’s sole purpose is to find America’s fastest track cars. Hit play to watch the SRT Viper GT3-R in action as it reaches speeds of up to 171 mph.

The M4 has become is more than just the next hot thing from Bavaria. It’s also become the evolutionary bridge between the M3 and the M5 , combining elements of both models to become what some believe to be the best of both worlds. The M4’s stature has thus given BMW another reason to present the sports coupe with a new M Performance Aerodynamic package, making the model even more desirable than it already is.

This particular M4 with M Performance Aeodynamic Parts actually comes by way of BMW Abu Dhabi. That partly explains why BMW choose to spice up the M4, as people in that country are serious about their sports cars .

More often than not, stock models don’t cut the mustard there, hence the need to give the M4 unique upgrades to make it interesting to Middle Eastern buyers.

We don’t know how anyone could find the M4 not exciting enough, but I guess that’s of the biggest reasons why this M Performance Aerodynamic Parts package was unveiled in that part of the world. It’s safe to say that BMW knows its clientele very well in all parts of the world.

So, what doe the M4 with M Performance Aerodynamic Parts bring to the table?

British property magnate Jon Hunt is nuts about his Ferraris , which makes him one of the few people in the world who has the capability to love the cars and then buy them afterwards. He also just recently accepted the delivery of his latest purchase, the Ferrari LaFerrari .

But simply taking the keys from a dealership wasn’t memorable enough for Hunt. So he decided to do something different. With the help of his two children and some friends, Hunt led his own version of a Ferrari parade, that is if you consider the distance from London to Ferrari headquarters in Maranello as a parade.

It seems like one, seeing as the cars Hunt picked to go pick up the LaFerrari were some of the most exclusive and sought-after Ferraris in the world. Really, it doesn’t get any better than a 288 GTO , an F40 , an F50 , and an Enzo, does it?

After spending his first five minutes inside the LaFerrari, Hunt quickly lines them all up together and tells Ferrari.com (via the above video) that he’s the type who actually drives his Ferraris, even admitting that he’s done 16,000 kilometers on the Enzo alone.

For somebody who has just about every exclusive Ferrari in the past 20-something years, Jon Hunt has shown us what it really means to be a proud and dedicated tifosi.

The Porsche Cayenne crossed the Pond to the United States for the 2003 model year, right after the first-generation model was introduced in Europe. The S and the Turbo were the first versions to arrive in North American dealerships. The base V-6 model and the range-topping Turbo S followed up by 2006, when the entire Cayenne lineup became available to U.S. buyers. The second-generation SUV came to replace the first Cayenne in 2010, and brought to brand new models along with it. The lineup expanded to receive a hybrid model in 2011 and a diesel version in 2013, further increasing the SUVs popularity worldwide.

Going into 2015, the second-gen Cayenne is getting an extensive mid-cycle facelift that includes a lengthy list of visual changes, interior upgrades, and updated powertrains. Slightly more aggressive by design, the facelifted Cayenne is not only about added power. The German SUV also claims to return more fuel economy, a feat we will verify as soon as we get our hands on it for a test drive. Until that happens, make sure you check out our full review.

When the first NSX debuted, Honda was using it as a weapon to challenge the power of Ferrari on the track. For all intents and purposes, the new NSX will serve the same purpose, but I think Honda has taken it a bit too far. You may have noticed that there have been more than a few stories about Ferrari’s randomly bursting into flames around the world, and Honda was not going to be outshone. We now have news that the NSX prototype we just saw testing on the Nurburgring has also burst into flames.

Obviously, it is sad news that the NSX production mule has been destroyed, but it’s mildly comical when put into the context of the decades long battle against its Italian rival.

Thankfully it doesn’t appear that anyone was hurt in the fire, but the NSX does look to be a complete loss. Most of the rear body work has been burnt to nothing and what is left doesn’t exactly look salvageable.

I sure hope Honda has a backup if it plans on getting enough testing done to have this car on sale by next summer.
