The Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series went into production in 2007. Back then, Mercedes built a limited number of these high-performance coupes, hence the price tag was not what you would call "affordable." It was expensive, had a terrible ride and it had no rear seats, which did not help when it came to practicality.
However, the CLK63 AMG Black Series was never built to be practical or even comfortable. What it did best was to put a grin on your face whenever the "go-go" pedal was pressed.
Our friendly, neighborhood gearhead, Jeremy Clarkson, owned one, and he loved it. The recipe for winning over JC from TopGear was simple. What Mercedes-Benz did, is take a standard CLK-Class coupe, send it across to AMG, who would shoehorn a 6.2-liter V-8 into the engine bay and do some adjustments to the suspension, etc.
Mercedes would then send the finished car to its "Black-Ops" department, which would throw away the rear axle and replace it with an "industrial-strength" axle and stick a note warning drivers that turning the traction control off can cause loss of life/property and hence isn’t advised. So, it was a car for crazy people, basically. And now folks at City Performance Center, Australia have turned it a mythical creature that makes unicorns seem abundant...

Back in 2012, BMW unveiled the i8 Spyder Concept car , which wasn’t a big surprise considering that the coupe concept appeared ripe for a removable top.
Now, that the i8 Coupe is ready to hit showrooms, potential buyers are waiting for a production version of the i8 Spyder to also hit the market.
A recent report from Bimmerpost suggests that BMW officials have approved the i8 Spyder for production, and that we should see it sometime in late 2015. The same report also suggests that BMW has already unveiled a production-ready model to insiders sometime last Friday. This production model featured a Solar Orange exterior paint — identical to what we’ve seen on the i3 — combined with blue highlights.
Of course the i8 Spyder will share the engine and the technical features with its coupe sibling. The exterior will remain nearly identical to the concept version, but with with the production styling aspects of the i8 Coupe.

Kia revealed the first teaser image of a 2+2 sports car concept set to be unveiled in January 2014 at the Detroit Auto Show . The company described the concept car as a "stunning sports car," specially designed to deliver "head-turning looks whilst providing superb driving enjoyment whether on the road or at the track."
No other details were revealed, but the teaser image reveals a car with a sporty character, featuring the design lines we’ve seen on all the latest Kia vehicles. The concept appears to feature a long hood and pronounced wheel arches. The nose seems to feature a new headlight design for a Kia model.
More details on the concept will be released in the upcoming weeks, but the full specifications figures will be unveiled during the car’s official debut in Detroit. Stay tuned!

TOPCAR is no stranger to modding high-end cars, with some of its favorites hailing from Porsche. Well, it didn’t take the tuner too long — it’s only been about a month since its official unveiling — to get to work on the Macan , as it has released a sweet aesthetic kit for the upcoming SUV. Sure, these images are all simply renders, but they are enough to keep our attention turned to our friends from Russia to see just how the final product turns out.
TOPCAR left the under-hood bits alone, but we’re pretty sure these performance mods will come at a later date. As for the exterior, TOPCAR left no stone unturned, as it completely transformed the look of the Macan .
The aerodynamic updates includes new bumpers, spoilers, side skirts and diffusers. All the new elements are made from a combination of carbon fiber and Kevlar — typical TOPCAR quality, of course — and, according to the tuner, these mods will significantly improve the driving dynamics of the Cayenne ’s little bro, likely from the added downforce and reduced weight.
TOPCAR also announced that a series of updates for the interior, plus some updates for the engine lineup are also under development and should be ready for the spring of 2014.

Today was the day, as the new Stingray Convertible made its world debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show .
The convertible version is nearly identical to the coupe version, except of course, its three-ply fabric top that opens and closes at speeds up to 30 mph. The convertible version also features sound-absorbing padding and a glass rear window, which both contribute to a quieter cabin and a more premium appearance.
The new Stingray Convertible will be put on sale in late 2013.

It looks like a future where Ferrari starts using turbocharged engines is drawing closer and closer to reality.
Rumors that Maranello is considering such a move have risen to the surface in recent weeks and now, well placed sources within Ferrari have told Motor Trend that the next-generation California will indeed get a turbocharged engine, in the form of a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8, similar in design to the powertrain that currently resides under the Maserati Quattroporte’s hood.
It’s not going to be an identical engine, as the one the California will have will be built using all-Ferrari components, but make no mistake, it’s going to be turbocharged, making the new Cali the first Ferrari to use this engine setup since the mighty F40 .
Ferrari didn’t release the performance numbers of this engine, but its worth noting that the Quattroporte’s twin-turbo V-8 packs 523 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, which is significantly more powerful than the current California’s naturally-aspirated, 4.3-liter V-8 that produces 483 horsepower and 372 pound-feet of torque output.
In addition to the turbocharged surprise, the next-gen California will also have its own physical makeover, none more important than reports that the supercar will have receive new body panels to go with an updated interior that will likely be driven up in class relative to what we’ve seen with past California models.
With the rest of its fleet still sparkling from their youthful ages, it’s high time that the California gets the same treatment.

To no surprise, the production version looks nearly identical to the concept , with the only noticeable difference being the slightly revised fog lights on the production version.
The new Golf Sportvan will ride on a wheelbase with about 1.96 inches longer than the standard Golf and the body is about 0.3 inches wider. The most obvious of differences between the Golf and this Sportsvan is that it is taller than the standard Golf.
The new model will come as a replacement for the old Golf Plus, and VW built it as a combination between a minivan and a hatchback. Its demographic is younger families who like the roomier interior, but still prefer the compact size on the outside.
Expect the new Volkswagen Golf Sportvan to be unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show , with the first deliveries starting in mid 2014.

We knew that Gran Turismo 6 was going to be awesome, a true testament to the tireless work put in by Polyphony Digital to live up the game’s tagline as "the real driving simulator".
What we didn’t know, or didn’t come to expect, was that Polyphony Digital could also tug our heartstrings. But that’s exactly what it did when its producers managed to reunite Mario Andretti with his 1948 Hudson , the very first race car the iconic racer drove in his illustrious career.
More important than just reuniting Andretti with his first racecar, Polyphony also took the task of not only restoring the Hudson as part of its "First Love" video and live-streaming series of the same name, but also creating a digital representation that will be included in the game as a free download.
The studio booked a December 16th reunion of the rebuilt Hudson and Andretti, and you can see the video of this reunion above.
Don’t be too worried if your eyes start welling up. Something tells us that’s what Polyphony wanted all along.

Ford unveiled the third-generation Focus in 2011, and it looks like the latest generation is set to receive its first facelift. Our spy photographers caught the model while testing in wintery conditions, and managed to also obtain some shots of the interior.
The revised Focus appears to grow slightly in size, and will receive updates to the front and the rear. We expect the revised Focus to receive a completely new front-end look that features a new set of headlights, new bumper and a new grille. It also looks like the hood and the front fenders will also be updated. The rear should gain a new bumper and taillights.
For the interior, Ford will add a bigger screen for the infotainment and satellite navigation system, revised buttons in the center of the dashboard, new colors and upgraded materials.
We also expect to see some updated engines, but there is little to report on that so far.
We expect the revised Ford Focus to be unveiled sometime in early 2014, most likely at the Geneva Motor Show .
