Justin Wilson won his first race of the season in the Champ Car series at the Assen Grand Prix. The driver of RuSPORT team overtook the pole-sitter, Sebastien Bourdais,who finished on the 7th position due to a software glitch in the Power-to-Pass system that caused the pitlane speed limiter to kick in. Altough yesterday in the pre-qualifying session Sebastien Bourdais obtained the 6th place, today the French driver showed everyone that he took the things seriously, taking the pole position with a stunning time of 1:18.765s. Justin Wilson took the provisional pole position on the race track from Assen. Wilson overtook Simon Pagenaud of Team Australia with almost 0.9 seconds.
