Lewis Hamilton received last night the prizes for Best British Competition Driver, Best International Racing Driver and Rookie of the Year at the Autosport Awards held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane.
Viviane Senna, who presented Lewis with an award, compared the British driver with her brother Ayrton Senna: “He reminds me of Ayrton, as a pilot.”

Bernie Ecclestone told to the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport that Ralf Schumacher and Giancarlo Fisichella would better quit Formula One rather than to drive for Force India in 2008. A memorandum leaked to the British press by McLaren claims that the Renault Formula One team had “33 files containing more than 780 individual drawings” constituting “the entire technical blueprint of McLaren’s 2006 and 2007 cars” on the Renault computers.

The plan had put Prodrive into Formula 1, but the plan has run into a roadblock: a lawsuit.
Prodrive and its managing director, David Richards, has now cancelled plans to move up to Formula 1, taking advantage of rules changes designed to make entry into Formula 1 easier and cheaper for independent teams.
