McLaren did it again! Alonso overtook his teammate Lewis Hamilton and got the pole position with a very small difference of 0.01 seconds.The third place was obtained by Bmw Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld with 1m20.259s.Heidfeld was followed closely by Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen with 1m 20.410s.
Nico Rosberg placed his Wiliams monopost on the 5th place.Rosberg overtook Ralph Schumacher who obtained only 1m 20.714s.Bmw Sauber’s Robert Kubica set a time of 1m 20.876s which placed him on the 7th position.Kubica was ahead of the Renault driven by Giancarlo Fisichella who obtained only the 8th place. Ralf Schumacher’s teammate from Toyota , Jarno Trulli place on the 9th position while Mark Webber,the driver of the Red Bull monopost closed the top 10 with 1m 21.256s.
The other Red Bull car driven by David Coulthard placed on the 11th position with 1m 20.718s. The Renault F1 monopost driven by Heikki Kovalainen followed him finishing on the 12th place.On the lucky 13th position finished Alex Wurz,the other driver from Wiliams F1 team.
This day was not too good for the Ferrari cars.Felipe Massa stopped his car in the pit lane in the second qualyfing session after a misunderstanding with his engineers over refueling leaving him stranded down in 14th place.
Anthony Davidson,driver of the Super Aguri F1 team and Tonio Liuzzi from the Torro Rosso Scuderia placed on the 15th and 16th place.They were followed by the two Hondas driven by Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello.Takuma Sato placed his Super Aguri monopost on the 19th place.On the 20th position was the new driver of the Torro Rosso Scuderia, Sebastian Vettel with 1m 22.177 followed by the two Spyker cars driven by Adrian Sutil and Sakon Yamamoto who closed the finishing grid.
