While Kimi Raikkonen is resting the runner up, Lewis Hamilton is busier than ever. After a visit at MTV, Hamilton appeared on Sunday at Mercedes’ annual Stars & Cars event in Stuttgart, where more than 60,000 people attended.

Hamilton joined Mercedes colleagues from both Formula One racing and the German DTM series to celebrate the end of the company’s 2007 motor racing season. In traditional style, the day featured a packed programme of demonstration laps, pit-stop competitions, autograph sessions, live music and more.

Hamilton paid tribute to the Mercedes fans and workers in attendance, pledging an even better performance with McLaren next year, following his spectacular 2007 debut.

I believe that next year we will be even stronger and I promise all my colleagues at Mercedes-Benz that we will again fight for the championship, and this time we will take it,” he proclaimed.

The event, being staged for the 13th time since its inception since 1994, marked the end of one of the most successful seasons in Mercedes’ history. From their 70 starts in Formula One, Formula Three and DTM, they won on 58 occasions and finished on the podium a further 11 times.
