On the first day of testing at Monza, Lewis Hamilton was the fastest with his new wing package and set a time of 1:24.112 s. Hamilton topped Ferrari’s driver Kimi Raikkonen who was very close with 1:24.258s. Looks like Hamilton is prepared to take his revenge due to his tyre incident at Istanbul Park and will push his car to the limits for one purpose: win the F1 Championship .
BMW-Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld looked confident and finished on the 3rd place at Monza. Jarno Trulli followed him with 1:24.523s overtaking in this way Kazuki Nakajima the driver of Williams-Toyota. Nakajima also tried the wing package similar to the one used by McLaren and seems that this went good for the Japanese driver.
Sebastian Vettel obtained an unusual 6th place for Scuderia Torro Rosso. I say unusual due to the fact that Scuderia Torro Rosso has weak performances.
Renault’s Nelson Piquet finished on the 7th place while Rubens Barrichelloc took the 8th place.Webber placed his Red Bull-Renault monopost on the 9th place while the Super Aguri-Honda monopost driven by James Rossiter closed the top 10.
At the end of the session the rain started and the teams already prepared to stay an extra day due to the bad weather.
