Barcelona testing session is over

The three day testing session held in Barcelona is over. Now the Formula One teams are analyzing the data obtained by their drivers and are preparing for the next testing session, and of course for the next Formula One season. The “luxury” test driver Michael Schumacher had in the first two days the best time, in the third testing day Kovalainen had the best time, by the way Schumacher didn’t race in the third day at Barcelona – probably Ferrari didn’t had enough money to pay (...)

India will host its first Grand Prix in New Delhi in 2010

Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed that he has struck a deal with the Indian company JP Associates, who has won a ten-year contract to bring Formula 1 to India from 2010. The race will be held at a purpose-built facility near Greater Noida airport, 50km outside New Delhi, from 2010. “India has always been known for its love of cricket, but F1 has been growing hugely in popularity in recent years as the viewing figures would suggest," Ecclestone said in a statement on F1’s official (...)

The 2008 Formula One season starts with Barcelona test

Today started the preparation for the 2008 season with a three-day testing session at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya in Spain. All the 11 teams are preparing for the next season, the engineers and drivers started to work on the key rule changes for next season - the banning of traction control and the obligatory use of a standard ECU to control their cars’ engine electronics. Ferrari announces new management structure

Ferrari confirmed that they are going to restructure their sporting division. The sporting director Stefano Domenicali will become director of the Gestione Sportiva, a role that had been held temporarily by CEO Jean Todt. Domenicali will take up his new position from January 1, 2008. Renault denies using McLaren data, but admits possession

After the accusation that Renault obtain and used technical data propriety of McLaren, Renault officials admitted that they had in their possession McLaren data, but they declared that didn’t use it. FIA summons Renault to answer against "spying" charges

The FIA has requested Renault appear before the World Motor Sport Council next month over allegations that the team had unauthorized possession of confidential data belonging to rivals McLaren. Rosberg and Nakajima will drive for Williams in 2008

Williams test driver Kazuki Nakajima will race for the team next season alongside Nico Rosberg. Indian GP2 driver Karun Chandhok to test for Red Bull Racing

Indian GP2 driver Karun Chandhok is to test for Red Bull Racing when Formula One testing resumes at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya in Spain later this month. Williams tests with British youngster Sam Bird

Sam Bird has conducted a series of aerodynamic tests on behalf of the AT&T Williams F1 team. The tests were carried over a two week period at Kemble airfield in Gloucestershire, where Sam drove this season’s FW29 car. The AT&T Williams team was 4th in the 2007 F1 constructors’ championship.
