Kimi Raikkonen wins the British Grand Prix

Posted on by

A perfect start for Lewis Hamilton. The young driver managed to keep the lead in front of Kimi Raikkonen and his team-mate Fernando Alonso. Felipe Massa was not so lucky, the Italian driver lost his 4th position in the starting grid becase he had some problems with the car.

First pit stop was with probems for Hamilton who lost the lead in front of Kimi Raikkonen. After a misunderstanding with a McLaren engineer, Hamilton lost almost 10 seconds at the first stop.

Alonso’s stopped for 6.3 seconds and when he came back in the race he came with style, taking the lead and overtaking Ferrari’s driver, Kimi Raikkonen.

After obtaining best place ever in the qualifying session Schumacher ended his run at Silverstone after an abandon in lap 23. After Schumacher,Davidson abandoned the race after some technical problems with his Honda monopost (maybe the informations gathered from the Ferrari Ferrari engineer,Stepney were not so good afterall…). Spyker team wasn’t lucky too.The team lost the car driven by Sutil.

Second pit stop of Fernando Alonso took him the lead.He entered in the race on the 3rd place and placed Kimi Raikkonen back in the lead with an advantage of 18 seconds in front of Lewis Hamilton.

After its stop in lap 43 Kimi Raikkonen maintained his first position in front of the 2 McLaren drivers, Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton.

The advantage was big, so big that he maintained it until the end of the race.Kimi Raikkonen was the best from Silverstone showing its potential in front of the McLaren drivers Alonso and Hamilton.

It was a great return for Kubica finishing on the 4th place in front of Felipe Massa and his team-mate Nick Heidfeld.Bmw won the fight with Renault, finishing with both of the cars in front of the French automaker.

The final finishers were Takuma Sato, starting from the pit lane in his Super Aguri, and Christijan Albers in the Spyker.

The result leaves Hamiltonin in the first place with 70 points , Alonso on the 2nd with 58, Raikkonen on 3rd with 52, and Massa on 4th with 51.
