Spyker F1 team also known as Etihad Aldar Spyker has been forced to delay the launch of its new B spec car until the Italian Grand Prix due to the problems the car had at the rear impact tests. The Dutch team will use this weekend the A spec car until the new car passes the tests.
Mike Gascoyne, chief technical officer, said that it is very disappoiting to delay the launch of the car but due to the failure of the rear crash test. The tests, says Gascone, are very difficult to pas but considering that the structure of the car is very similar to the A spec the team looks confident at the tests that will take place next week.
Regarding this weekend’s race at Istanbul, Gascoyne added that the team will now concentrate to do their best. If we look at the previous races we don’t see any good future for the Dutch team. They usually take no points at the Grands Prix due to the bad driving of the pilots or maybe the bad car...Italian Grand Prix could be a surprise because Spyker will launch until then the B spec car. We shall see if this new car will be a revolution for Spyker.
