Adrian Sutil and Christian Klien are willing to do everything in their power to drive for the new Formula One team Force India.
Adrian Sutil signed a long term deal with his current outfit last year and, although his name was linked in the last weeks with other team, he declared that he is now waiting to see who his teammate at Force India would be. He said: “I have a valid contract with Force India for 2008 and I am not looking around elsewhere.”
He thinks that Force India will choose between Christian Klien and Vitantonio Liuzzi: “In my personal opinion I think it will be decided between Klien and Liuzzi. Both did an excellent job recently in testing in Barcelona. Both deserve to be in F1 whereas others who are just having money should not race there.”
Christian Klien, who spent three seasons racing for Jaguar and Red Bull before spending 2007 on the sidelines as a test driver for Honda, is willing to do “’whatever it takes” to return on the Formula 1 grid with Force India, especially now after he was fastest of three drivers testing for Force India in Barcelona.
He is hoping that after the test days held in Jerez Force India will offer him a contract for the next season. He declared that he will do his best if there will be a shout out in Jerez: “The team’s decision to invite me back to test in Jerez is good news, but I don’t read anything into it other than the fact I have done a professional job so far. If Force India chooses to develop a shoot-out I will do whatever I am asked to do, give it my best and not worry about the other drivers. One year of testing was enough - I need to race.”
Force India officials declared that they will announce their drivers for 2008 Formula One season next month in Monaco.
