The 2007 season of the IndyCar Racing Series has ended and now the drivers are preparing for the 2008 season. The drivers and the teams are taking a break until next year and they are preparing for another exiting season of IndyCar racing.

Andretti Green Racing team had a superb day Sunday at the Detroit Indy Grand Prix. Their two drivers Tony Kanaan and Danica Patrick made a big surprise. Tony Kanaan won the Detroit Indy Grand Prix while Danica followed him closely on the second place. The 3rd driver of the team, Dario Franchitti, took only the 6th place. Not a bad place for Franchitti considering that he is currently the leader of the IndyCar Series Championship.

After dominating the entire race in the Motorola Indy 300 at Infineon Raceway bad luck came for Dario Franchitti. After a collision with his team mate Marco Andretti with only 11 laps remaining, Franchitti was overtaken by the rival Scott Dixon who won the race. With this victory Dixon took the lead of the championship with just two races remaining in the 2007 IndyCar Series.

Andretti Green Racing’s Tony Kanaan dominated the Miejer Indy 300 at Kentucky Speedway Saturday night, scoring his second consecutive IndyCar Series race win and a league-leading fourth victory of 2007 to move into title contention with three races remaining.

On a day when more than half the IndyCar Series field was eliminated by crashes, Andretti Green Racing’s Tony Kanaan bested teammate Marco Andretti in a final 10-lap duel to win Sunday’s Firestone Indy 400 at Michigan Speedway. It was Kanaan’s third victory of the season, and kept his championship hopes alive with four races remaining.

Scott Dixon tied an IndyCar Series record and futher closed on the championship points lead with his third consecutive victory of 2007 in the Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. His victory, following wins at Watkins Glen and Nashville SuperSpeedway in the two previous weeks, ties the IndyCar mark of three consecutive victories previously recorded by Kenny Brack in 1998 and Dan Wheldon in 2005.
