Tony Kanaan wins the Detroit Indy Grand Prix

Andretti Green Racing team had a superb day Sunday at the Detroit Indy Grand Prix. Their two drivers Tony Kanaan and Danica Patrick made a big surprise. Tony Kanaan won the Detroit Indy Grand Prix while Danica followed him closely on the second place. The 3rd driver of the team, Dario Franchitti, took only the 6th place. Not a bad place for Franchitti considering that he is currently the leader of the IndyCar Series Championship.

Dan Wheldon took the 3rd place due to a pit strategy used by his team Target Chip Ganassi Racing. Darren Manning driver of the A.J. Foyt Racing followed Wheldon on the 4th place, this being his best result in the 2007 championship.

Foyt IV finished the race on the 9th place while Ed Carpenter, driver of the Vision Racing team closed the top ten here at the Detroit Indy Grand Prix.

The 2007 IndyCar Series concludes next week, Sunday, September 9, on the 1.5-mile Chicagoland oval in Joliet, Illinois.
