Kurt Busch scored his second win of the season in the delayed 3M Performance 400 race at Michigan International Speedway. In this way Buch increased his chances of making the Chase for the Nextel Cup.

The officials started the race under yellow flag but the red flag was shown due to the heavy fog. After 32 minutes the race finally got underway. Busch took the lead in lap 101 overtaking Matt Kenseth and dominated the race untill the end. Busch managed to handle the pressure from Martin Truex Jr and finished the race on the first place. This victory brought him another 10 points bonus for the title-deciding Chase.

Busch said that he is very happy for this victory but this doesn’t means that they are champions, they still have to work hard for this. The next race is at Bristol and this is an advantage for Busch: the driver won almost every year the race from Bristol since his maiden victory there in 2002.
