Sam Hornish Jr. is leaving the IndyCar Series for a full-time ride in NASCAR, joining the mass exodus of open-wheel stars fleeing to America‚Äôs most popular racing series. Roger Penske , born February 20, 1937, in Shaker Heights, Ohio is the owner of the Penske Racing Team, a very successful team that competes in the NASCAR, ALMS and Indy Racing League. Penske Racing returned to NASCAR fulltime in 1991 with driver Rusty Wallace and sponsor Miller Brewing Co. after a 14-year hiatus from stock car racing. A great day for Penske Motorsports as their pilots Ryan Briscoe and Sascha Maassen brought victory in the American Le Mans Series, at the Northeast Grand Prix. Ryan Briscoe took the lead over the team-mates Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas.Briscoe won the race after a long dominance of Dumas.
