2006 GM just had roadster triplets: Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, Opel GT

The already notorious Pontiac Solstice is about to be cloned with a more elegant skin as the Saturn Sky for the US and Opel GT for the European market. The new comers will use the same “Kappa” production platform as the Pontiac, but will be distinctive in terms of design.

Pontiac Solstice GXP prices announced

At the height of the summer solstice, Pontiac today announced that the turbocharged 2007 Solstice GXP will carry a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $25,995, including a $600 destination charge. Pontiac Solstice sets new track record

Following up its third place debut at New Hampshire International Speedway on May 6, Pontiac Solstice set a new track record for the fastest lap in Showroom Stock B (SSB) with a time of 1:18.811 and took fourth in its second race of the season on May 28 at Nelson Ledges Road Course in Garrettsville, Ohio. GM might increase the production for hot-selling Solstice

General Motors Corp. is considering increasing production of its new Solstice convertible, but still does not expect to satisfy current demand for the hot-selling vehicle. "There has been very strong initial demand for the Solstice, but we want to be very careful not to chase the market." Pontiac unveils Red Bull Solstice GXP for drifting competition
