Spyker F1 team also known as Etihad Aldar Spyker has been forced to delay the launch of its new B spec car until the Italian Grand Prix due to the problems the car had at the rear impact tests. The Dutch team will use this weekend the A spec car until the new car passes the tests. The Dutch automaker, Spyker, could sell a part or all of its Formula 1 Team as part of the new refinancing plan. Spyker officials said that the team brought negative publicity on its credit worthiness and survivability and these facts made them think seriously about keeping it. One possible buyer could be Michiel Mol, current chief executive and director of the Spyker Formula 1 Team. It is official! Spyker announced on Thursday that Sakon Yamamoto, the Japanese driver will take the vacant seat left by Christijan Albers and will become Adrian Sutil’s new teammate for the remaining seven races of the 2007 F1 season. The Japanese driver Sakon Yamamoto will race for the Spyker F1 team in the remaining races of the season. Yamamoto,used to race last year for the Super Aguri team and now he plans to take the vacant seat left at the Dutch team after Christijan Albers after some contractual difficulties. As we said yesterday in a news report, the Dutch team had to give an answer today about a possible collaboration between Markus Winkelhock and Spyker. Markus Winkelhock is now the favourite to take the vacant seat left after Christijan Albers was dropped by the outfit following sponsorship problems. After Christijan has left the team Spyker Spyker tried the skills of many drivers like Honda Racing test driver Christian Klien,Williams test driver Narain Karthikeyan and GP2 racer Roldan Rodriguez but it seemed that not even one was good enough to race for the Dutch team. Christian Klien will switch his Honda monopost for a Spyker Spyker at Spa-Francorchamps.The young driver is one of the drivers Spyker is considering following the leaving of Christijan Albers. Colin Kolles, Spyker team boss said that he is very grateful to Honda for realeasing Klien at such short notice. The Indian driver Narain Karthikeyan is favourite to take Christijan Alber’s place at Spyker Spyker F1 team. Also the Wiliams test driver Christian Klien is considered to replace Albers, but the first option remains Karthikeyan.Klien is currently Honda’s test driver after driving 3 seasons at the Red Bull team and Jaguar Jaguar . Spyker revealed the decision to terminate their current contract with one of their drivers, Christijan Albers. Colin Kolles, the Spyker team manager, said that this was a very difficult decision but it was taken due to the commercial difficulties cause by one of Alber’s personal sponsors.
