The new Ford Focus RS 07, the latest version of Ford ’s World Rally Car,will make its debut at the Neste Oil Rally Finland.
The new Ford Focus will be driven only by the Bp-Ford World Rally Team.The drivers of the two cars will be Marcus Gronholm and Mikko Hirvonen.
Ford Focus RS 07 represents an evolution of the 2006 model, which had featured many changes: a wider bodywork,transverse transmission,new aluminium engine mounted back to front into the chassis,with chain driven camshafts ad more advanced electronic systems.

The dimensions of the 2007 model remained the same. The modifications were concerning reduction of weight of various features in the car, brought to follow the minimum allowed total weight of 1230kg according to the WRC regulations.
The work on the engine had positive results.The performances were improved and the engineers obtained also a weight reduction of 5kg. To achieve this reduction the engine received a lighter flywheel, machining away unnecessary parts of the engine block, fitting a new single piece rather than a two piece exhaust manifold and making some of the internal parts lighter.

The transmission remained almost unchanged, only some electronic work was done to make the gearshifting faster.The bodyshell remained the sames as on the 2006 model.At the interior the pedal box was changed with some lighter materials.The suspension remained the same as before.
The new Ford received some changes externally.The rear aileron has been revised to reduce the drag,the front bumper has been altered due to the problems with the current design.The ground cleareance of the front bumper has been increased.

By regulations the registered drivers Marcus Gronholm and Mikko Hirvonen must drive this 2007 version for all the remaining rallies of the current WRC season.
