Volkswagen announced that when they unveiled the 2009 Golf VI in October it will be launched with new, smaller base engine. Wolfgang Steiger, VW's manager for powertrain research, told Automobilwoche that besides the familiar 1.4-liter TSI engine, the latest Golf also will offer either a 1.0- or 1.2-liter engine rated at 75 horsepower. BMW will unveil two concept cars at the Paris Motor Show in October: the X1 SUV and a a near-to-production version of the Mini SUV. The X1 goes on sale in the fourth quarter of 2009.
