The Nissan Cabstar was built for delivery duties in the 3.5 tones segment and it’s a rebadged version of the Renault Maxity . The truck is among the most versatile models in its class and is equipped with both 2.5 and 3.0 liter engines. The Nissan Cabstar has a starting price of 19.000 GPB and can be ordered with either a single cab or a double cab featuring a maximum payload capacity of up to 1850 kg.

In order to offer the possibility to be used for a wide range of applications the Cabstar chassis is available with 2.5m, 2.9m and 3.4m wheelbases. Double rear wheels are standard on 3.5T GVW versions while the double cabs are available on 2.9m and 3.4m, MWB and LWB versions. The Nissan Cabstar is offered with a three-year/60,000-mile warranty with service intervals set at 18,000 miles.

There is a lot of competition in the commercial truck segment and the big manufacturers struggle to make continuous improvements to their products in order to keep them as versatile as possible. One of the most reliable trucks in this segment is the Mercedes Artego which is available in weights of 7.5-16 tonnes.

The Mercedes -Benz Atego range was introduced in 1997. At the beginning all straight-engined rigids built by Mercedes were named Artego, but after the general facelift received in 2005, trucks over 18 tonnes were named Axor .

The Atego is available as a three-way tipper, an all-wheel-drive tipper, a skip loader or even a tipper with a mounted crane. There are also four cab configuration for the Artego namely the Day Cab, Extended Day Cab, Low Roof Sleeper and High Roof Sleeper.

The Renault Kerax was developed to be able to operate under the most demanding working conditions. With a maximum payload of up to 30 tonnes for the heavy duty model, the rugged Kerax is one of the most capable trucks build by the French manufacturer. The truck is comes with a wide range of reliable engines and a versatile chassis that can be modified to cope with a broad range of missions such as distribution for refrigerated or frozen-goods, refuse handling, light construction duties and various forms of tanker and bulk-goods transportation.

The Volvo FM was developed for regional transports and it was completely redesigned in 2010 when it received a few exterior changes, a fresh engine lineup and a host of new interior features. Over the years Volvo has managed to gain a good reputation thanks to its reliability and the strong build quality, but the new FM moves this heritage even further with a lot of useful improvements and good fuel efficiency.

The FM is offer six cab models naming the Day Cab, Sleeper Cab, Low Sleeper Cab, Globetrotter, Globetrotter LXL and Fire engine Crew Cab. The truck’s versatility is also represented by the wide range of axle configurations - 4x2, 6x2, 6x4, 4x4, 6x6, 8x2, 8x4 – available for both rigid and tractor versions.

The LF is the smallest truck in the manufacturer’s lineup and it is designed for the distribution market. The DAF LF is one of the most popular rigid trucks on our roads today and its main competitors are models like the Volvo FL, MAN TGL or Iveco Eurocargo.

DAF’s policy was to always put efficiency on the first place and the LF moves this heritage further being among the most efficient trucks in the 7.5-21 tonnes segment. The DAF LF is available in two cab configurations (Day Cab and Sleeper Cab) and two axle configurations (4x2 and 6x2) with wheels dimensions ranging between 17.5 inch and 22.5 inch.

The 7.5t trucks fills an important gap in the supply industry as they are only slightly bigger ’than a 3.5 tons van but they can carry twice as much. Moreover they also have a relatively narrow width and short wheelbases which makes them easy to maneuver around the city.

An important member of this segment is the MAN TGL which is the lightest truck built by the German manufacturer. Thanks to its performances it even received the Truck of the year award in 2006 and today is available in a wide range with models between 7.49–12 tonnes. The MAN TGL comes in 4x2 tipper or rigid form with engines ranging from 150 to 250 HP. The truck is also available in four cab versions including C, L, LX and Crew models.

The DAF CF is a highly versatile truck that comes with high payloads and a wide choice of cabs and axle configurations. Three cabs are available for the CF range which includes the Day cab, Sleeper cab and space cab. The CF series is available in many different axle configurations, ranging from two-axle tractors and rigids to three- or four-axle vehicles, single- or double driven. The truck is equipped with the highly efficient PACCAR engines and features a lightweight chassis which is suited for a wide range of applications.
