The Peterbilt 330 features a versatile conventional cab configuration and was designed as a medium duty class 6 vehicle that doesn’t require a commercial driver license to be driven. With a GVWR of 26,000 pound and a wide range of engines and chassis configurations the Peterbilt is ideal for refrigerated van, pickup, delivery, wrecker and utility configurations.
Moreover, the truck is also available with hybrid technology which offers a better fuel economy and lower emissions. The 330 is not the only truck in the company’s lineup which uses Eaton’s Hydraulic Launch Assist as the 320 model is also using the same technology.
Designed for medium-duty activities, the KenworthT370 is available in a wide range of models and its tough chassis is capable of tackling even the toughest jobs.
The Kenworth T370 is a Class 7 vehicle, rated at 33,000 lbs GVW. Available as a straight truck or tractor, it can be configured from the ground up for specific applications and has a starting price of $150.000.
The Kenworth T370 is equipped with the reliable Paccar engines that can be mated on either manual or automatic transmissions which are also available with PTO systems.
The Nissan Patrol chassis cab was built for lightweight duties and features a rugged off road character enhanced by a capable all wheel drive system and the generous ground clearance. With a gross vehicle mass of up to 3400 kg, the vehicle is one of the most versatile chassis cab models available on today’s market and feels like home on any terrain, being able to deal effortless with river crossings, sand dunes or muddy construction sites.
The rear axle of the Nissan Patrol chassis cab can be equipped with either leaf suspensions or with coil springs.
Under the hood the vehicle is equipped with a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine which has a maximum output of 160hp.
The Nissan Patrol chassis cab has a starting price of $50.000 and is available in two trim levels - the DX and the ST.
Peterbilt has announced at Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, that has made available the new Extended Day Cab feature for its complete lineup of Medium Duty vehicles. The Extended Day Cab is available on Peterbilt’s entire medium duty product line, which spans Class 5 through Class 7 and includes the Models 348, 337, 330 and 325.
Compared to the standard cab, the extended version offers an additional 10 inches length and nearly 6 inches more head room. Moreover, four cubic feet of built-in rear wall storage compartments have been added for equipment or paperwork.
“Peterbilt’s Extended Day Cab has been very popular since its launch last year, proving ideal for customers who require a larger operating environment,” said Bill Kozek, Peterbilt General Manager and PACCAR Vice President. “With the large standard rear window, the extended cab also provides superb visibility, making it optimal for both Pickup & Delivery and Vocational applications.”
The extended day cab was developed to maximize the driver comfort and enhanced the productivity. Besides the added space, the Extended Day cab also offer a 23 degree recline for both the driver and passenger seats and four inches of added space between the steering wheel and the seat.
Volvo’s VN lineup was already pretty versatile, but the company has also introduced a natural gas-powered version of the truck at Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville.
Compared to the diesel models, the new CNG version doesn’t have any exterior or interior modifications and shares the same features as its siblings.
The natural gas-powered trucks represent a very efficient option for fleet owners and truckers who want to lower the fuel costs and this technology has already started to be seen with very good eyes in the commercial vehicles segment.

At Mid-America Trucking Show Volvo presented the innovative ‘Mean Green’ which is the world’s fastest hybrid truck ever built. On April 27th will attempt to break it last year record and to reach a top speed of 260 km/h (165 mph) at Wendover Airfield in Utah, USA. Last year the Volvo Mean Green was driven by Boije Ovebrink and managed to set the world’s speed record in the standing 500 metre, standing kilometre and flying kilometre.
The Volvo Mean Green uses a modified aerodynamic VN cab and develops a massive 2,100 horsepower and nearly 5,000 lb-ft (6779 Nm) of torque – of which 200 horsepower and 885 lb-ft (1200 Nm) of torque come from the electric motor.

Our engineers developed the world’s fastest hybrid truck utilising the same Volvo hybrid drive system powering hundreds of Volvo buses throughout the world - including London’s double-decker buses.”
Volvo’s team of hybrid technology experts adapted Volvo’s hybrid driveline to the chassis requirements of a world-class truck built for speed. Engineers then outfitted ‘Mean Green’ with a highly-tuned Volvo D16 engine and a modified version of Volvo’s automated I-Shift gearbox, which interacts with the hybrid’s electric motor.
“The result is a lightning-speed boost from start-off without any of the customary diesel-engine delay,” said Boije Ovebrink, ‘Mean Green’s owner and driver. “It’s like a champagne cork, but without the sound effects. For the first couple of seconds the truck just makes a slight whistle until the diesel engine, which runs on renewable liquid rosin diesel, starts delivering with an explosive force.”
The Opel Movano is a mid-sized commercial vehicle that made its debut in 1998. The vehicle is sold in the United Kingdom under the Vauxhall badge and received its latest upgrades in 2010.
The vehicle features a maximum GVW (gross vehicle weight) of up to 4500 kg and is based on the actual generation Renault Master while both generations are based on the current Renault Master. The vehicle is available in single cab or crew cab configuration and comes with front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive and heavy-duty twin rear-wheel drive options. Moreover, all models come with a three-year/100,000 mile warranty on both the chassis and the conversion (when factory built). With a starting price of 13.000 GBP (ex taxes) the Opel Movano is one of the most affordable chassis cab models from the market.
The Dodge Ram chassis cab is one of the most rugged trucks in its segment. The vehicle comes in a wide range of models and its highly versatile character makes it able to do the toughest duties without breaking a sweat.
The truck is available in three weight classes 3500, 4500 and 5500 with either single or crew cab configurations. The truck competes against models like the Ford Heavy Duty and Chevrolet Silverado. The Dodge Ram Chassis Cab received a set of upgrades in 2011 which enhanced the truck’s performances and also added a few fresh design lines to the exterior.
Peterbilt presented its new 579 long haul truck at Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville. The truck features a host of innovations and new technologies which make it more efficient and practical. The company says that this is the best truck Peterbilt has ever built. The new Peterbilt 579 is available with Single and Sleeper cabs and will start to roll off the assembling line in May 2012.

At the 2012 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kenworth presented the new T680 highway truck which is the most aerodynamic vehicle built by the company. The new Kenworth T680 puts accent on efficiency, performance and comfort and is fitted with a bunch of innovative features.
The 2.1 meters T680 Cab was designed to fills the blank between the 1.9-meter T660 cab and the 2.3 T700 cab models. The truck is being aimed at linehaul, pickup and delivery, and regional freight operators and is available with either single- or sleeper-cab configuration. At the heart of the truck sits the 12.9L Paccar MX engine, while the Cummins ISX15 engine is also available as an option. The new Kenworth T-680, will go into production on May 21.
