Foton is a Chinese manufacturer of light and medium duty trucks that integrates technologies from Cummins and Daimler in the construction of its vehicles.

Globally, the company sells three trucks and all have a cab over engine configuration with the Aumark occupying the middle position in the weight class. The truck has a versatile character and is available with a wide range of body options, being suitable for a various commercial applications.

The truck is powered by a range of Cummins engines which develop between 108 and 180 hp and is available in four versions with GVW (gross vehicle weights) of up to 14660 kg.

JAC is a Chinese manufacturer that made a joint venture with Navistar International Corporation in 2010 to develop together new products and to share technologies.

The JAC light duty trucks are sold globally in three versions, being able to cope with a various range of applications thanks to their flexible character. The trucks are offered with GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass) ratings ranging from 4.5 tonnes to 7.5 tonnes and there are five different wheel bases available which comprise of 2490 mm, 2800 mm, 3000 mm, 3308 mm and 3360 mm with single, one and a half and double seats.

The trucks feature a pretty rudimentary design, but they have capable towing abilities as they come with wide range of Cummins engines.

The Hino 300 Series is a light commercial duty with a highly versatile character. The truck is based on the Toyota Dyna and shares many elements with its donor.

When Hino engineered the 300 Series, its main objective was to make it as efficient as possible and thanks to the addition of the a Diesel Particulate Active Reduction System (DPR ) the result is pretty good. Besides its good efficiency, the truck also offers generous payload capacities with GVMR (gross vehicle mass rating) that can go up to 8.5 tones.

The Hino 300 Series is available with both regular and wide cab configurations and is powered by a 4.0 liter diesel engine which develops up to 155 hp.

With a spacious cab and a generous load area the newest Peugeot Expert offers a high level of practicality packed into an attractive design. The vehicle shares the same body and technology with the Fiat Scudo and Citroen Dispatch .

Together with the Cabstar and NV400, the Primastar completes Nissan ’s lineup of light commercial vehicles. The vehicle was design together with the Renault Traffic and Opel Vivaro and shares the same design and underpinnings with its two siblings.

The Primastar is one of the most versatile models in Nissan ’s lineup and is offered with both long or short wheelbase and two roof heights. Under the hood, the Nissan Primastar is equipped with either a 2.0 liter or 2.5 liter diesel engines which develop 115 hp and 146 hp respectively. The vehicle has a payload capacity of up to 1.2 tones and is priced from $25000.

The Hyundai iLoad was launched in 2009 and was seen as a serious evolution in Hyundai’s lineup of light commercial vehicles. Launched in the middle of the big recession the iLoad was sold in pretty good numbers and its modern design combined with a flexible character managed to attract a few fans.

In Hyundai ’s favor reliability played a major role and also the generous five years warranty that comes as standard for the iLoad. The Hyundai iLoad is also priced pretty competitive at 22.500 (excluding VAT). The vehicle is available in crew and panel van versions and is based on the i800 passenger carrier which is equipped with 9 seats.

The Hyundai H100 is also known as the Porter and is around since 1977. The H100 was initially launched on the Asian market and became the segment leader pretty fast. Being designed as a lightweight pickup truck the vehicle is especially appreciated for its reliable and versatile character.

With both single (4,760-4,795 mm length) and double (5,085-5,120 mm length) cab configurations and available in Deck, Tipper and Chassis Cab versions, the Hyundai HD100 is equipped with an 80 hp diesel engine that develops a peak torque of 170 Nm. The vehicle is priced from $22.700 and comes with a standard 5 Year or 150 000 km warranty.

The Opel Vivaro was launched in 2000 at the same time with its twins from Renault and Nissan. With an innovative style the Opel Vivaro was far ahead of its times and its wicked style survived pretty well for over ten years.

The Vivaro is positioned just below the Movano in the Vauxhall’s commercial hierarchy and is aimed mainly against models like The Ford Transit or Volkswagen Transporter.
