Land Rover->ke46 knows it has a hit product with the Range Rover Evoque.->ke3666 That’s evident by the numerous versions it offers, including the coupe,->ke141 five-door, and convertible->ke144. Well, Land Rover is adding something else – not quite a new body style – but a special edition->ke2041 that features a red and black theme. It’s called the Ember Edition.

"We wanted to give the Range Rover Evoque Ember Limited Edition a sporty feel,” says Phil Simmons, Land Rover’s Studio Director for Exterior Design Realization. “Contrasting the intensity of the Firenze Red with Santorini Black really shows off the Evoque’s stand-out proportions."

The Evoque Ember Edition not only sports a bespoke appearance, it also features JLR’s next-generation infotainment software. Land Rover says this is in response to custom demand for greater connectivity. We say it’s in response to the betterment of infotainment systems across the automotive landscape. Range Rover->ke469 is supposed to be a cutting-edge brand, remember?

The updated InControl Touch Pro infotainment system features a new 10.2-inch tablet-style touch screen with “pinch ‘n’ zoom” capabilities and runs streetview map options and a customizable home screen. We expect to see this hardware and software upgrade rapidly expand through JLR’s portfolio over the next few model years.

Visually, the Range Rover Evoque Ember Edition calls attention to itself via a Firenze Red roof color that contrasts a Santorini black body color. Unique badging further defines the look. The interior is equally updated, with black leather seats held together with Pimento Red stitching. Of course, there’s more to the Evoque Ember Edition, so keep reading for the full run-down.

What makes the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Ember Limited Edition special

As mentioned before, the exterior brings attention to itself in a non-sutble way. The black lower portion of the Evoque contracts well with the bright red roof and red accents on the front and rear bumpers. The look might be a bit overdone for some, but there’s no denying this Evoque’s uniqueness. Trim-specific badged are present, with the Evoque badge getting black scrip with silver trim, while the Ranger Rover lettering is coated in Narvik Black. Satin black 20-inch wheels, Dynamic Black exhaust tips, a Dynamic Narvik Black grille, and smoked exterior lights finish off the exterior detailing.

Inside, the Ebony black leather on the seats is accented by Pimento Red stitching. The look is mirrored with red and black floor mats and Gloss Black trim pieces around the cabin. Then, of course, is the updated InControl Touch Pro infotainment system in the dash. The system is much wider than the previous screen and should provide a more intuitive interface. A row of soft keys lines the bottom of the screen, making quick selections of different functions a snap.

The Ember Edition is available only on the Evoque HSE Dynamic trim and will be open for ordering during a small, three-month window during the summer of 2016. Land Rover has made no indication as to the price, but we suspect it won’t be a cheap option to select.
