Aston Martin's Q by Aston Martin->ke13 division has created some pretty delicious personalized models since it was launched in 2012. In a lot of ways, it's become one of the best things Aston Martin has done in recent years. So when Aston Martin announced that four unique Q by Aston Martin models will be displayed at the Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance->ke2839, the excitement behind it is completely legitimate. The Aston Martin DB9 Volante is one of the models that will be given the Q by Aston Martin treatment. I've looked at all four examples headed to Pebble Beach and there's no question in my mind that the DB9 Volante is a stunner.

It's just a beautiful, personalized Aston Martin that exudes all the best things the brand is known for. It's also unique enough that you probably won't see another Aston Martin dressed in the same colors anytime soon.

That's the beauty of the Q by Aston Martin division. It creates examples that are so unique and personally detailed that you can't help but wonder why Aston Martin doesn't release more of these models to the public.

The Pebble Beach-bound Aston Martin DB9 Volante Q by Aston Martin is a perfect example of that.

Aston Martin DB9 Volante By Q By Aston Martin in detail

From the outside, this DB9 Volante is pretty much a regular production sports car. However, once inside, bidders will notice that the bespoke cabin is packed with a number of exclusive features, ranging from special leathers and Alcantara surfaces to unique embroidering and even a saddle-like storage compartment.

Most of the interior is wrapped in Saddle Tan Luxmill leather, one of the finest cow hides available from the Q Heritage palette. Contrasting the tan leather are the diamond-quilted Alcantara seating surfaces and door panels. The steering wheel, the dashboard, and the floor mats are all finished in a similar shade of tan. In the back, an authentic equestrian saddle-leather storage compartment resides between the seats, while the front headrests are adorned by white stitching and embroidered horse logos. The latter can also be seen on the rear console, right above the fancy saddle storage area.

There's no word on power upgrades, so it's safe to assume the DB9 is still motivated by its stock, 5.9-liter, V-12 engine. The naturally aspirated mill churns out 510 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque, which is enough for the 0-to-60-mph sprint to be achieved in just 4.9 seconds.

Aston Martin DB9 Volante

Introduced in 2004 as a replacement to the DB7->ke352, the DB9 is front-engined, rear-wheel-drive vehicle sporting a 2+2 seating configuration. Introduced shortly after the coupe, the DB9 Volante -- Aston-speak for convertible -- rides on a strengthened version of the company's VH platform and a softened suspension. The cabriolet weight about 130 pounds more than the coupe and comes with a folding fabric roof that takes 17 seconds to fold.

Although powered by the same 510-horsepower engine as its coupe sibling, the DB9 Volante has its top speed limited to 165 mph. The DB9's most recent upgrade dates back to 2013, when minor exterior and interior changes, and a powerplant update were introduced.
