British design house Kahn Design->ke1726 may be known for its Land Rover->ke46-based projects, but its offerings aren't limited to beefed-up Range Rover Sport and Evoque SUVs->ke145. In recent years, the Brits set their sight on a number of Audi->ke14 and Porsche->ke1 models as well, including the Q3, the Q5 and the mighty Cayenne.

You probably remember 2015 Q5 Wide Track, a crossover->ke288 that gained a more appealing body kit and a wider track for enhanced stability. What it didn't get, however, was a more capable powertrain, being stuck with the same 2.0-liter TDI engine it came with from the factory. That's actually a tradition for Kahn Design, who focuses on visual upgrades rather than power bumps.

Same goes for the recently unveiled Q5 2.0 TDI quattro S-Tronic Wide Track. Wait, what? Is this a re-release? No, it is not! It's a totally different approach that replaces the elegance seen on the previous model with a menacing new look by means of a triple-black coating and a number of new styling elements.

Audi Q5 2.0 TDi Quattro S-Tronic Wide Track By Kahn Design in detail

On the outside, the body kit appears to be pretty similar to the previous one. However, the gloss-black paint changes the way this crossover is perceived by the eye and gives it an appearance not even Audi Exclusive can match. What's more, the beefed-up wheel arches are more obvious in black and make a great pair with the 22-inch Kahn RS600 wheels and their matte black finish.

Besides the already familiar front bumper with its protruding lower side, the new diffuser-like piece and the unique exhaust system crafted in stainless, the package also includes a blacked-out front grille and darkened four-ring emblems. The dark privacy glass makes sure uninvited eyes are stopped from peeking into the cabin.

In the usual Kahn fashion, customers can create their own interior using an array of bespoke parts. Among the options that can be selected for the Audi Q5 are perforated leather-wrapped front and rear seats, stainless steel sill plates, and vented pedals sculpted from machined aluminum. But the coolest feature of them all is the red background that gives the instrument panel a racy appearance.

As we already mentioned, the powertrain of this vehicle remains unchanged, meaning the 2.0-liter TDI engine delivers the same 170 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.

Kahn has this particular rig up for sale at £42,875 ($81,163 as of 6/13/2014).
