If you’re looking for the benefits of an SUV->ke145 without actually owning one, then your best bet is probably one of Audi’->ke14s Allroad models. They offer all of the amenities of an SUV, like Audi’s awesome Quattro->ke2463 all-wheel drive system and air suspension. This means the car comes ready to tackle rough roads a lot better than most sedans->ke142 out there. Plus, since the Allroad comes in wagon form, it offers similar cargo space in comparison to your everyday SUV.

Here in the U.S., we are limited to the Audi A4 Allroad, but on the other side of the world, Audi offers the sporty Audi A6 Allroad. Just in time for winter, Audi has released a new trim level for the A6 Allroad, dubbed “Sport,” that makes the car even more sporty. Upgrades offered with the Sport trim include new wheels, new lighting, and even new seats up front.

The A6 Allroad Sport doesn’t benefit from any power upgrades, but the new standard features along with the AWD system and air suspension makes the new Allroad Sport the model to have. That air suspension, by the way, automatically lowers at higher speeds to help reduce aerodynamic drag. Anyway, we decided to look at the new Allroad Sport to see just what makes it that much better, so keep reading to find out all the details.

What makes the Audi A6 Allroad Quattro Sport special

To start off, Audi has added 19-inch, 10-spoke, alloy wheels that are painted in a Matte Titanium finish. Heated and folding mirrors replace the standard side-view mirrors, and all rear glass has been replaced with privacy glass. As you can see from the pictures, the new wheels and privacy glass give the Allroad Sport an absolutely amazing looking. In addition to the wheels, mirrors, and glass, the Allroad Sport has also received new LED headlights (standard models have bi-xenon units,) and to the rear, the Sport has been fitted with sweeping LED turn signals.

On the inside, the front seats have been replaced with fully electric sports seats that are wrapped in Valcona leather. Door inserts in the front and rear have received Alcantara treatment. This of course comes along with all of the features of the standard Allroad, like four-zone AC, Audi music interface and what I’ve found to be one of the better navigation systems out there.

The A6 Allroad Sport is offered with one of three V-6, diesel engines, which happens to be the determining factor for the car’s price point. The low-end model puts out 219 PS (214.93 horsepower) and hits the bank for £49,455. The next level up puts out 272 PS (268.17 horsepower) for £51,015 and on the high end, the V-6 puts out 320 PS (315.49 horsepower) for £55,825. At current exchange rates, that is $74,408, $76,755, and $83,992, respectively. All variants come at a premium of around £4,000 (just over $6,000 USD) over standard A6 Allroad models. When equipped with the top-of-the-line V-6, the Allroad sport springs to 62 mph in just 5.5 seconds – not bad for a station wagon – and top speed is limited at the 155 mph mark.

All in all, the Allroad Sport seems like a worth trim upgrade over the standard model. The new wheels, window tint, and lights alone are well worth the premium. The new sport seats, luxurious leather, and Alcantara treatment give the Allroad a sense of luxury and style that you don’t normally find in your everyday station wagon.

Audi A6 Allroad

The Audi A6 Quattro was spawned from the A6 Avant back in 1999, but was initially named the Audi Allroad Quattro. It didn’t become known as the A6 Allroad Quattro until the C6-series Allroad models were released in 2006. That generation carried on until 2012 when we got a look at the 2013 A6 Allroad Quattro at the Geneva Motor Show. This generation actually received more than 1,100 new parts that differentiated it from the A6. While the Allroad Quattro always had adjustable air suspension in one form or another, it wasn’t until this generation that the A6 Allroad became a true all-terrain vehicle. It even featured a special finish on the fascias, larger diameter tires and skidplates. Now at the end of 2015, the new Sport trim has been added to the bunch, and should prove to be a true asset to the Allroad lineup.
