I’ve always had a fondness for AC Schnitzer.->ke513 The German aftermarket company is one of the best BMW->ke178 tuners in the world and it looks to solidify that reputation with the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe.

Lots of other companies and groups have started to tune BMW's new mid-szie coupe, but AC Schnitzer has that extra experience and legacy that makes it one of the most well-known on the market.

AC Schnitzer’s history with the German automaker is as long as it is rich. If there’s one tuner you’d want working on a BMW, especially one that is as new and as popular as the 4 Series->ke3834, it’s AC Schnitzer. There are new visual upgrades, aerodynamic tweaks, and a host of performance improvements.

You’re going to need to check it out for yourself, but trust me; you're not going to be disappointed.

BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe by AC Schnitzer in detail

AC Schnitzer started by taking the 4 Series Gran Coupe and added a handful of aerodynamic components, highlighted by a new front spoiler and a new rear diffuser that provide improved ground adhesion for the German coupe. AC Schnitzer also installed carbon mirror covers, a rear skirt protective film, and a chromed front grille for 4 Series Gran Coupe M-Technik models.

Inside, the modifications continue with an aluminum handbrake handle, and there’s an illuminated leather gear knob or the aluminium "Black Line“ gear knob mixed in to provide a versatile choice for customers of the tuning company.

AC Schnitzer’s modifications are some of the best because they don’t just wow you with aesthetics. Instead, it works on the less-visible parts of the 4 Series, such as its suspension system. In this case, the German tuner’s new suspension spring kit lowers the car by 25 mm at the front and 10-25 mm at the back. If that’s not enough for you, AC Schnitzer also has a racing suspension that can be adjusted in compression and rebound stages. This system puts the car closer to the ground by 30-40 mm at the front and 25-40 mm at the back.

AC Schnitzer always offers a new set of wheels for all of its programs. In this case, the tuner decided to go with four different choices, including Type VIII forged alloys in BiColor, Type VIII rims in BiColor (Black, Silver or Anthracite), Type IV wheels in silver or BiColor, and last but not least, Type IV rims in BiColor black.

Customers can choose from any of these wheel options to dress up their 4 Series Gran Coupe.

At the heart of this tuning program are the performance upgrades AC Schnitzer provides. The German automaker’s own intercooler and engine modification system largely contributed to these upgrades, and you can choose them for bascially any trim or model of 4 Series.

Take the 428i, for example. In standard form, the model’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 240 horsepower. Thanks to AC Schnitzer, that bumps up to 294 horsepower. Meanwhile, the 435i’s 3.0-liter inline-six engine will see its output increase from 300 horsepower to 360 horsepower.

Other trim models like the 420i also received significant power bumps from 184 horsepower to 245 horsepower. Then there are the diesel variants like the 420d, the 430d, and the 435d. Each trim received their own performance updates, with power bumps to 218 horsepower, 309 horsepower, and 360 horsepower, respectively.
