MSNBC has released a list with the best and worst selling vehicle for the 2007 year. By no surprise on the top of the list with best selling vehicles was Ford F-Series: only in October the company sold 4,200 fewer than last. The bad news comes from the luxury cars market, as lots of unexpected car make on the worst selling list: Cadillac XLR, Porsche Boxster, Jaguar S-Type and X-Type and Audi A8 and S8.

A market that also grew a lot this year was the crossover market, or CUVs. Rather than being related to pickups or commercial vehicles like traditional SUVs, these vehicles combine sleeker, more modern looks and car-like road manners without sacrificing the utility of an SUV. Crossover sales for the first 10 months of 2007 are up a whopping 24% from the same period last year.

The "Big Three," including all the domestic brands of General Motors, Ford Motor, and Chrysler) combined sales are down 7.5 percent in the first 10 months of 2007, vs. the same period in 2006.

The best/worst list was made by year-to-date sales data on a model-by-model basis, as compiled by Automotive News, which relies on regular sales reports from automakers.
