First Nissan announced that the next model year GT-R will get 5 more hp, now it seems that the 2010 model will drop also launch control.

Inside Line got the scoop from a high ranking Nissan executive. "It's gone," the suit told IL when asked if launch control would return in 2010. "We just don't want to deal with the warranty nightmare anymore. It'll make the 2009 GT-R really special. It'll be the only R35 with launch control."

For those who haven't been able to test the launch control, it's a system that pegs the revs at 4500 RPM and waits for the driver to lift his/her foot off the brake. This holds the car in the "sweet spot" for a quick takeoff, unfortunately as you can tell from Nissan's statement, it can also dump the transmission (a $20,000 repair).
