The Corvette line-up includes the high performance version ZR1 and the special edition Corvette Grand Sport, but there are people out there who still prefer a standard Z06 model. For those fans, we have some good news; the 2011 model year will bring a few upgrades to the Corvette Z06. This will mark the first time the Z06 has seen any type of upgrade, other than special edition models, since 2006. Being such a popular model, it is a shame that Chevrolet->ke199 has wasted so much time before allowing us to revel in some newfound features for the Corvette Z06.

The idea behind these enhancements is to make the Z06 look a bit closer to the ZR1, but at the same time maintaining its edge as the most trackable Corvette in the model lineup.

The new equipment list was unveiled at the Corvette Museum's C5/C6 Bash on April 29, 2010. C5 and C6 are the names of the platforms in which the Z06 is built on. The C5 was built from 2001-2004 and the C6 started its production in 2006 and, obviously, still lives on today. The upgrades to the Corvette Z06 will include: new tires from Goodyear, an aggressive dual mode exhaust tune, as well as the aforementioned Z07 performance package featuring the Brembo carbon ceramic brakes and the CFZ Carbon Fiber appearance package.
