Although mostly for the aftermarket scene, vehicle manufacturers like Chrysler->ke21 jump wholeheartedly on board as well, bringing no less than 20 custom creations to show off.

Other manufacturers like Hyundai->ke201 pour their heart and soul into a smaller number of cars, making sure each one is fully customized for a specific purpose.

So before SEMA gets rolling this week – Nov. 5th through 8th – we present to you our top picks of vehicles we’ve seen previewed so far. Literally hundreds more will be there, but here’s just a taste.

Sedans

2014 Chrysler 300S by Mopar

This Mopar-built 300S is a real looker. Coated in a Phantom Black tri-coat paint, it rolls on a set of 20-inch rims borrowed from the Chrysler 300C John Varvatos Limited Edition, but painted in a contrasting Mopar bronze. Chrysler went the extra mile by adding a 13-bar “Gotham” grille, a black SRT rear spoiler and a lowering kit, giving the sedan an aggressive stance that’s sure to bring attention. There’s just something about those wheels that set this car apart.

2014 Audi AS6 by ABT Sportsline

The story behind this AS6 is much bigger than the car itself. The German tuning company ABT Sportsline is know for its amazing creations, but has been predominantly constrained to Europe. We Americans could only drool and wish for such. But that’s where this AS6 comes in. ABT Sportsline is using the sedan as an announcing platform for their new business expansion to the United States next year! This particular Audi comes with a plethora of aerodynamic improvements, including an ABT front spoiler, fender inserts, side skirts, and a rear spoiler. ABT worked their magic with the 3.0-liter, TDI engine as well. Power is up to an impressive 286 horsepower over the stock 240, while torque increases to 500 pound-feet – well over the 428 pound-feet the base A6 TDI comes with

2014 Chevrolet Impala Urban Cool Concept

This 2014 Impala is a straight looker. Chevy didn’t bother too much with the technical bits under the hood, but rather took a more outward approach to this concept. Starting with an aggressive ground-effects kit, Chevy then dropped the ride height for a pretty mean stance, while 20-inch wheels sport color-matching inserts to the front grille. Inside the Impala, Chevy added high-gloss, piano-black trim with contrasting Sky Cool Gray leather seats with eye-catching orange stitching. We’re fans of this concept mostly because they’re upgrades someone could actually do without going completely broke.

2014 Ford Fusion Titanium by DSO Eyewear

DSO Eyewear isn’t new to SEMA and this year they’re bringing this 2014 Fusion finished in tuxedo black with contrasting gold, 21-inch rims. A body kit from 3D Carbon and other gold accents help this Fusion remind us of a particular Pontiac Trans Am Burt Reynolds used to drive. Although we can’t find Sally Fields in the passenger seat, we do find more power under the hood, thanks to a Banks Power straight-shot, water-methanol injection system fitted to the Fusion's 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine. No word yet on what performance increase the system creates, but generally, those sorts of injection systems makes some serious numbers

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray P58 Concept by TZD

Ok, how much cooler can you get? As if the new 2014 Stingray wasn’t sweet enough, TZD has prepped this Vette with their aero package, carbon-fiber bits, and a huge rear wing, giving the C7 a Le Mans-ready look. The Vette is also fitted with sticky Toyo Proxes tires wrapping the custom 20-inch wheels. No word yet on specific performance upgrades, but as we reported earlier, we’re 99.9-percent sure the Stingray carries the Pfadt P98 tune that includes a cold-air intake, tri-Y headers and the Pfadt engine calibration.

2014 Ford Fiesta ST by Bojix Design

It wouldn’t be SEMA if Bojix Design didn’t show up. This year, they’ve brought this sweet 2014 Fiesta complete with an aggressive appearance package and aerodynamic kit. Larger fenders house larger tires front and rear while the custom grey BASF paint job makes the look complete. We’re particularly fond the orange accents on the dark grey wheels. A coilover suspension, cat-back exhaust and a Banks Straight-shot injection system help round out the project.

2014 Scion Simpli-tC by Young Tea

Starting with a contest, Scion’s “Tuner Challenge” pitted contestants against each other for the chance to be in the top three spots. Those three winners each got a 2014 Scion tC and $15,000 to design and modify the car within 90 days. One of those three cars is this tC called “Simpli-tC” built by Young Tea in his home garage. Besides all the extra bodywork, Young Tea worked his magic under the hood, too. No word yet on exactly what’s been done, but he says the car will deliver more than the standard 180 horsepower.

2013 Scion FR-S Concept One by Bulletproof Automotive

Looking like something HotWheels would design, this FR-S by Bulletproof Automotive is sure to steal the show. Adding over 300 horsepower to the boxer engine, this rear-wheel-drive, two-door now makes 500 ponies under the hood. A Powerhouse Amuse turbo kit with a EFR 6758 turbocharger, titanium turbo downpipe and 86.5 mm overbore pistons help make the power possible. The sporty bodywork, wings and all, help hold this bad boy down to the track. The concept can also run on both 91 octane and E85 fuels.

2014 Ford Mustang Bad Penny by Classic Design Concepts

Mustangs are always a big part of SEMA and this one is no different. With its black and copper paint scheme atop the custom aerodynamic kit, this Pony car looks the part. A performance grille inside a new front fascia, functional brake-cooling ducts, aide and rear splitters and custom rear deck lid are also present. Frogiato three-piece wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich G-Force tires while Wilwood brakes help bring everything to a stop.

2013 Scion FR-S Steve Aoki Art Car

“Wow” pretty much sums up our first reaction to this car. Produced by Steve Aoki, this FR-S is every audiophiles dream. The interior is where the main focus is in this two-door coupe. A host of premium sound system products from Pioneer grace the interior while strobe lights give it a Club-Scion feel. An LCD display mounted to the deck lid and a fog machine adds to the experience. Yes, a fog machine! The exterior wasn’t neglected, however, with orange accents popping off the glossy black paint. Door graphics and sporty rims make the look complete.

2013 Scion FR-S Style J/Urban GT Sport Coupe

Scion somehow makes the already beautiful FR-S even more so with this “Style J” design. Revised exterior components, like the grille, front and rear bumpers, fenders with extended wheel arches, and rear diffuser adds urban style to this street bruiser. The 19-inch rims hint at the performance mods lurking under the bodywork. Bilstein shocks and larger brakes help keep the FR-S under control while the extra 16 horsepower – totaling 216 - help push the concept car forward.

Trucks & SUVs

Ram Sun Chaser

The Ram Sun Chaser concept is straight from the boys at Chrysler with a few custom additions that make this Ram 1500 the perfect surfing vehicle. With four-wheel drive and meaty tires, the Sun Chaser can get on an off the beach without issues. Once there, Surfers unload their boards from the special roof rack. In between the waves, they can rest on the fold-up, two-person seat affixed to the tailgate or rinse off using the on-board shower system stowed in the driver-side RamBox.

2014 Toyota Tacoma By DC Shoes

This 2014 Tacoma is the result of a partnership between Toyota, DC Shoes and Camburg Engineering to make the ultimate snow boarding truck. Outfitted with snowboard racks, a pop-up tent and space to park a snowmobile on the bed, the Tacoma is ready for the slopes. It’s powered by Toyota’s venerable 4.0-liter, V-6 engine which is unchanged for this project, while the truck’s interior received a nice update with a built-in Apple iPad Mini housed within the dashboard.

2013 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Black Bison Edition by Wald International

The details around the Wald International Porsche Cayenne Turbo are scares. Hardly anything is known about what lies beneath the beautiful black and white paint of the 2013 Porsche. What we do know, however is what we can see. A wide-body kit is the first take-away, of which includes a new front bumper, revised side skirts, extended wheel arches and a new front air dam. The artful, ventilated hood finished in black contrasts quite nicely with the remaining white SUV, while LED headlights help bring attention closer in towards the details.

2013 Land Rover Range Rover Aspen Ultimate Series by Onyx Concept

Purposeful describes this Range Rover in one word. Its exterior features changed only in the name of aerodynamics, new aero fin, front air dams, diffusers, and even new side mirrors help this full-size SUV cut through the wind. That’s all be cause the normal 505 horsepower that emanated from the 5.0-liter, V-8 engine has been considerably increased to 625 – a 115 bump in horsepower.

2014 Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver

Jeep is no stranger to SEMA. Last year it brought a countless number of Wrangler concepts that showcased aftermarket, off-road goodies from many, many companies. This year, one of the vehicles Jeep is bringing is this Trail Carver concept. Starting with a Cherokee Tailhawk, this Cherokee gets a coat of Auburn Pearl paint with low-gloss black, Granite Crystal and orange highlights. Below the paint is larger wheels and tires for better off-road agility, while rock-rails help protect the bodywork. Inside the Cherokee is a full Katzkin Amaretto leather interior.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado Cheyenne Concept

Chevy ventures outside the standard build specs and equips this single-cab Silverado with their most powerful truck engine – the huge 6.2-liter, V-8 that cranks out 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of tire-shredding torque. Carbon fiber is used extensively throughout the truck, shaving some 200 pounds off the standard production model. A lowered ride height, rear stabilizer bar, and big Brembo carbon ceramic brakes help the Cheyenne perform on the street.
