Chevrolet->ke199 may have unveiled the sixth-generation Camaro earlier this week, but enthusiasts won't be able to drive it until it arrives in U.S. dealerships later this year. Those that can't handle the wait though, might want to have a look at the four-minute video->ke278 Chevrolet Performance just unleashed via YouTube. It shows a point-of-view perspective of a 2016 Camaro being driven at Detroit Belle Isle, where Chevy held a preview event for the media right after the car's official reveal.

Although it's obviously not as good as driving the real thing, the video does provide us with important facts about the new Camaro.->ke248 First, the LGX V-6 engine you can hear roaring under the hood sounds downright impressive. It's both loud and racy, on top of being the most powerful naturally aspirated V-6 in this segment at 335 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque. Second, the coupe->ke141 seems to handle corners with ease, a sign that GM->ke1024 focused on improving the car's agility across the board. Better handling in the near-entry-level V6 also means Chevy might have something really special in store for the next-generation Z/28.

As a brief reminder, the 2016 Camaro is also available with a turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-pot and a 6.2-liter, LT1 V-8. The four-banger cranks out 275 horses and 295 pound-feet, while the V-8 churns 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet. The new pony also features a redesigned shell, a new, lighter chassis, and a significantly updated interior.
