Unveiled only a few months ago, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro won't arrive in U.S. dealerships until later this year. But as it is the case with most new releases, the car's ordering guide has surfaced the Interwebz earlier than scheduled to reveal the most important details about it, including specifications, model lineup, and options.

If you're anxious to place an order for a redesigned Camaro,->ke248 keep reading for everything you need to know about GM's->ke1024 new pony car.

Though the sixth-gen Camaro has been overhauled inside and out -- and even under the hood -- one thing that hasn't changed is the trim configurations. Just like the model it replaces, the 2016 Camaro will be available in two trim levels -- LT and SS. Both will again be divided into four models -- 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, and 2SS.

As usual, the biggest differences between the LT and SS trims is the engines they come with. However, whereas the previous LT featured the 3.6-liter V-6, the new model comes with standard with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder Chevy->ke199 just introduced for the Camaro. The turbocharged four-pot cranks out 275 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Optionally, the LT can be had with the revised 3.6-liter V-6, now rated at 335 horses and 284 pound-feet.

As you might have already guessed, the SS retains the 6.2-liter V-8, which has been massaged to deliver 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. Of course, each trim comes with its own bundle of standard features. While the 1LT gets the basic equipment, the 2SS is significantly better equipped. More on that below.

Trim details

All Camaros can be had in one of 10 exterior colors. Standard hues include Blue Velvet Metallic, Red Hot, Nightfall Gray Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, Black, and Hyper Blue Metallic. Bright Yellow, Garnet Red Tintcoat, and Mosaic Black Metallic are only available at extra cost. Inside, customers will be able select from five upholstery options: Jet Black, Medium Ash Gray, Kalahari, Adrenaline Red, and Ceramic White. But while the first two can be combined with any exterior colors, Kalahari can't be selected with the optional Bright Yellow paint. Additionally, Adrenaline Red and Ceramic White are restricted to certain interior accent trim packages.

Moving over to model trims, the Camaro 1LT comes with standard features such as LED daytime running lamps, 18-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels, Driver Selector Mode with three modes, 7-inch touchscreen MyLink infotainment, and a six-speaker audio system, among others. Options include a limited-slip differential, electrically operated sunroof, 8-inch touchscreen, and a Bose premium nine-speaker sound system.

Opt for the 2LT model and you get the same standard features as with the 1LT, plus features such as illuminated visors. This trim also allows buyers to select more options, including a digital instrument cluster, head-up display, Spectrum Lighting, illuminated sill plates, heated steering wheel, and a range of driving assists.

Additionally, the LT models can be optioned with the RS Package. The bundle adds HID headlamps, 20-inch gray-painted, machined aluminum wheels, LED taillights, an RS grille, and a trunk lid spoiler.

Next inline is the 1SS, which gets standard features such as HID headlamps, a rear spoiler, 20-inch wheels and Brembo brake calipers. Also included in the package are the limited-slip differential, performance suspension, and the digital instrument cluster. Options expand to include two-tone premium wheels, rally stripes, and Magnetic Ride Control.

The range-topping 1SS features everything the 2SS comes with plus an interior trim with aluminum accents on the door trim and shifter cap and options such as a head-up display, Spectrum Lighting, Rear Park Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Side Blind Zone Alert with Lane Change Alert.
