With only 24 hours left until General Motors->ke1024 unveils the new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, CNBC's Squawk Box just got exclusive access to the muscle car->ke507 everyone's just dying to see without camouflage. According to GM Inside News, CNBC has been talking about the 2016 Camaro all morning today, while also showing a couple of photos of GM's new pony car. These pics are our best look yet of the sixth-generation Camaro,->ke248 which until now was shown only in GM's not-so-revealing teaser shots or wearing heavy camouflage while testing. If you just couldn't wait until tomorrow, CNBC's photos just revealed a ton of details about the Camaro's new design.

As hinted by the teasers and spy shots,->ke166 the Camaro's front end changed dramatically with the sixth-gen car. Both the headlamps and the front grille are thinner, while the front bumper sports a massive intake and LED daytime running lights. The bulged engine hood and the beefy fenders maintain the previous-gen Camaro's aggressive stance. Because CNBC's photos show both the base and the SS model, you'll be able to spot some of the differences between them. For instance, the SS features a vented hood, misses the base car's chrome grille trim, and features different DRLs. While the base model's are vertical, the SS' are horizontal.

Around back, the Camaro became more aggressive, thanks to a pair of larger taillights, a sculpted bumper, and a larger diffuser-like piece. Much like its predecessor, the SS stands out by means of larger spoiler, revised diffuser and quad-exhaust arrangement.

Although Chevrolet->ke199 did a great job at keeping the new Camaro away from leaks, it deliberately unveiled it on TV, which is pretty much what it did with the facelifted fifth-gen car. Of course, no actual details are available beyond the new exterior design, but it gives enthusiasts a good idea of what to expect when the official photos and specs come out. As things stand, looks like GM did a great job.

I honestly like the new Camaro more than the 2015 Mustang, and I'm a Mustang->ke428 person. Hopefully, the specs and technology inside will be as impressive as the new exterior styling.

Although not yet confirmed, it seems the 2016 Camaro will tackle the sixth-gen Mustang on all fronts in the drivetrain department. Besides the familiar 3.6-liter V-6 and 6.2-liter V-8, GM's pony will also gain a turbocharged, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder unit.

Added as a base engine (the Mustang's EcoBoost is an option), the four-pot reportedly cranks out 270 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque. This is the same entry-level engine for the Cadillac ATS->ke3619 and CTS->ke1200. The 3.6-liter V-6 gets 330 horses and 275 pound-feet. Lastly, the range-topping 6.2-liter, LT1 V-8, also new for the Camaro SS, produces 440 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of twist.
