It’s April, and as the ice melts away, the green gets ready to play. No, I’m not talking about the local flora coming around after a long winter’s nap – I’m talking about the well-heeled individuals headed to the 13th annual Top Marques Monaco (TMM)->ke1414 car show, taking place April 14th to 17th. Since 2004, TMM has brought together wealthy car lovers for one of the most over-the-top auto events of the year, showcasing some of the fastest and most exclusive machinery on the planet.

TMM lives by the motto “See it, drive it, buy it.” That means attendees get the chance to pilot any of the for-sale supercars->ke177 around the adjacent harbor, including portions of the famed F1->ke190 track. Additionally, automakers have used the event as a springboard to introduce some of their wilder creations, with last year’s debuts including the Aeromobil 3.0, a million-dollar street-legal vehicle capable of transforming into a plane, and the Toroidion 1MW, the world’s first one-megawatt electric supercar.->ke1030

But millionaires are a dime a dozen in Monaco, so of course you gotta bring out the big guns if you wanna impress anyone. This year, TMM will showcase several cars from the latest entry to the James Bond franchise, Continue reading to learn more about the 2016 Top Marques Monaco event.. Complementing the movie metal will be a lineup of high-speed appliances rarely seen in public, as well as the “world’s first practicable jetpack” and the “world’s first every flying hover board.”

Icona Vulcano

Before the DB11 dropped cover at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show,->ke228 the DB10->ke5009 hit the silver screen. And why not – James Bond and Aston Martin->ke13 are nearly synonymous at this point, and what better way to advertise a car than to have it slithering around a major blockbuster chase scene? While the production car that spawned afterwards may have drawn a bit of criticism, few can argue against the aesthetic of the DB10.

Donkervoort D8 GTO

For every great hero car, there has to be a villain, right? Playing the role of “cat” to Bond’s Aston Martin “mouse” is the Jaguar C-X75.->ke3681 Originally debuting in 2010 at the Paris Motor Show,->ke227 Jag->ke39 had for big plans for the C-X75, initially announcing it would come with a crazy hybrid drivetrain and jaw-dropping price tag approaching $1.5 million. Unfortunately, the production variant was eventually canceled, but at least the idea remains on display for our collective enjoyment.

Martin Jetpack

Last year, the Icona Vulcano triumphantly strode across the carefully manicured Pebble Beach grass to become the world’s first titanium-bodied supercar. The design is just as outrageous as the materials, with 1,000 hours poured into the handcrafted form, which is said to take inspiration from the SR-71 Blackbird military spy plane. The speed possible when you put the hammer down is equally shocking, with 0-to-60 mph done in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 220 mph.

Ok, so it’s got a weird name and it looks like a Caterham->ke1252 on steroids. I’ll explain – the Donkervoort D8 GTO hails from the Netherlands, which explains the name, while the design is an extreme reinterpretation of the Lotus Seven, which explains the look. If you like no-nonsense performance, then this is the one for you – extremely lightweight, the D8 GTO needs only 375 horsepower to reach 62 mph in 2.8 seconds.

That’s right, folks – jetpacks. You’ve been asking for ‘em, and, well, it looks like New Zealand’s Martin Aircraft Company has ‘em. Made from carbon fiber and aluminum, this thing delivers up to 50 km (31 miles) of range at speeds up to 74 km/h (46 mph), with an altitude ceiling of 3,000 feet above sea level. The target price is $150,000, which is pretty reasonable, all things considered.

I’m sure you’ve heard of “hoverboards” – you know, those two-wheeled rolling incendiary bombs everyone seems to love? Well, this thing looks to trump them all. With 36 onboard electric fans and over 270 horsepower available, this 180-pound vehicle can float a foot off the ground and travel at speeds up to 12.5 mph. Unfortunately, there are a few downsides, like an operational time limited to just 6 minutes, and a price tag of $15,000, but hey – it’s a Read the full review [here. hoverboard!

Fresh from its debut at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show, the Arrow heads to Monaco to see if it can land a bullseye with the locals. Produced by German supercar manufacturer Apollo->ke1056 (the automaker formally known as Gumpert),->ke1055 the Arrow should be right at home at TMM. For starters, just look at it. It’s a rolling jaw-dropper front to back, but the impressive design is much more than skin deep. Under the composite aero is a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 from Audi,->ke14 which is tuned to deliver 986 horsepower and 737 pound-feet of torque. That’s enough grunt to propel this monster to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed rated at 223 mph.

The suspension and aerodynamics are adaptive, while the 6.3-liter V-12 mounted behind the cabin is assisted by two electric motors. Output rings to the tune of 963 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque, with the 0-to-60 mph sprint done in less than three seconds, and a top speed above 217 mph. Kahn Design WB12 Vengeance

Kahn Design is no stranger to custom high-end automobiles. Previously offering up a string of heavily massaged Land Rovers,->ke46 the U.K. tuner’s latest creation is the Aston Martin->ke13 WB12 Vengeance. First teased all the way back in May of 2015, the WB12 Vengeance finally made its first public appearance at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show, and now, it’s joining 007’s Aston DB10 in Monaco. Effeffe Berlinetta

At first blush, you’d be forgiven for mistaking this gorgeous red coupe for a 50-year-old Italian motorsport icon – because that’s exactly what Effeffe Cars was going for. In reality, this is a brand new car, hammered together using traditional auto-building techniques and craftsmanship. The shape is pure emotion, while inside is a steering wheel made from wood. Mounted just ahead of the cockpit is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine from Alfa Romeo,->ke1386 which mates to a five-speed manual transmission for 180 horsepower at the rear axle. Originally debuting at the Concorso d’Eleganza->ke2163 Villa d’Este in 2014, something tells me this thing will be a huge hit in Monaco. Pricing starts at around $320,000, and includes copious opportunities for customization.
