If you love a thumping big V-8, tire-shredding RWD power, and all the attitude that goes with it, you’re spoiled for choice. Indeed, there’s no shortage of badass muscle cars out there these days, and now, it looks like Ford is getting in on the fun with a new Mustang Shelby GT500, as revealed in a recent Instagram post by user sinister_lifestyle.

What Are We Looking At?

Unfortunately, details on the latest über ‘Stang are hard to come by, as the post itself only includes two images, both of which are roughly from the same angle.

However, both images follow in line with the official teaser pics Ford dropped back in May, which also included the blue and white color scheme, that big carbon wing, and a pronounced hood vent element.

Still, rumors abound when it comes to the GT500, with the latest pointing to output figures that eclipse the 700-pony mark thanks to a massive blown V-8 engine. Some rumors even speculate numbers around 770 horsepower and 743 pound-feet of torque, but we think that might be a bit ambitious, even for the highly impressive GT500. Either way, we’d like to see top speed tip the 200-mph mark, even with that massive wing attached to the trunk.

However, unlike a traditional straight-line lead sled, this thing will have the right stuff to corner as well, all thanks to its massively sticky tire specs, advanced suspension bits, and an independent rear end. The big aero should certainly help it turn, as well.

An official debut is expected early next year at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
